Excellent 10.0
Pros: The house was extremely warm and inviting. The breakfast was to "die" for !
Cons: There was nothing not to like !
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The host was absolutely amazing, Thomas made my stay as comfortable as he could. He even lit a fire for me the last night I was there in the common room. It did not hurt the rest of the rooms were empty during my short stay. I can not recommend this place enough, and it has 99% to do with Thomas.
Cons: I think the breakfast nook might get cramped when full.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Comfortable bed, great breakfast, kind and helpful host
Cons: Fine and neat house
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Thomas was the perfect hostess, very helpful, friendly, has explained everything and the made an excellent breakfast. We enjoyed our stay, but unfortunately too short.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I’ve been staying in UK B&Bs for over 20 years and this one is, by far, the best B&B I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying at. Thomas is an absolute gem and makes sure that every aspect of the stay is utterly superb. I will never stay anywhere else when on Islay! 10/10 for sure!
Cons: There was nothing to improve upon.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Thomas is an amazing host - welcoming, friendly, competent and extremely efficient
Cons: The cherry on top would have been able to sample a dram or two of whisky from the local distilleries on an honesty book basis but perhaps this is a licensing issue or it has been tried before and failed. Just remember to have some of your own available if you want a drink before you go out for supper.

Pros: Well organised and efficient. Welcoming hosts and very comfortable room.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fantastic hospitality with very comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast. Great hosts.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved the place, Andrew is a great host, he met us as we were driving in, showed the parking spot, helped with the bag and greeted us with a welcome dram! The room was spacious with a huge and convenient bathroom. The room got a bit chilly during the night, but an electric heater was readily available in the room to solve this. The hotel is at a walking distance from the Bowmore Distillery, the town is a small laidback destination for all of the whiskey and bird lovers out there!
Cons: It was perfect, thanks!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Ownres
Cons: Pictures better than reality, "ikea" style inside the room
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Andrew and his family are so friendly, helpful and sweet, it is a lovely house. We booked a sea view room, the washroom is soooo big, warm and clean. Staying here is just like staying at home. I highly recommend here. If I have any chance to come back again, I would like to stay in Andrew's house again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely place to stay. Super comfy bed, well decorated and a breakfast for kings with the best scrambled egg ever and lovely view of loch Indaal.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Welcome whisky !

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Exceptionally friendly staff, well kept and clean facilities, and top class food. This is by far the best place in Islay, and it's been the highlight of our vacation - we've been travelling across Scotland, staying in multiple places. Incredible value for money, and a truly unforgettable experience.
Cons: Couldn't honestly find a fault with our stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Impeccable attention to detail
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Islay House has everything—spacious bed, deep claw foot tub, beautiful gardens, wonderful breakfast and dinner menu, fantastic whisky selection. BUT, none of these things hold a candle to their staff. They were the most kind and gracious hosts we could have asked for during our stay on Islay. Islay House is honestly one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We unexpectedly got a room upgrade to an exquisite suite with a beautiful view over the lawn and out to the sea. The bed was one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and helpful on things to see and do. The breakfast was delicious with a varied menu each morning. I would also recommend dining in; the food was amazing. The House is centrally located on the island so easy to access all parts of the island. We would definitely recommend this place and cannot wait to go back.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The location and the view from our room were unbeatable. It's a good location from which to explore all that the island has to offer. The restaurant and the staff were great. The room and the common areas of the hotel were beautiful.
Cons: The restaurant is a bit expensive, and because the hotel is in an isolated location there aren't any other options nearby. Our room (Saligo) was beautiful but the layout was a bit odd (no door separating bedroom from bathroom). There was a crazy storm one night and we had a leak in the ceiling, in the corner of the room.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: lovely food, excellent staff, very friendly towards me and my dog, big clean and comfortable room and bathroom. will definitely be back when here again for work
Excellent 10.0
Pros: An amazing tower house, beautifully restored, steeped in history. The service was fantastic, attentive without being intrusive.
Cons: Driveway is a bit of a minefield of potholes.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent hospitality! Stunning location, affable staff, manager over the top. House of Islay is a stunning noble residence converted into a hotel. Sparkling clean, stylish and full of history. Our stay couldn’t have been better. Room was beautiful, comfortable, spacious and equipped with everything we needed (lots of lovely touches / elegant antique design). Location is best on the Island, the residence has a romantic garden and the food is phenomenal - exceptional choices of whiskey/beer at the bar. The manager will answer all of your questions and share with you all the little gems of the Island and re all the whiskey distilleries. We enjoyed our time at House of Islay so much and will stay again when back to the island!
Cons: Everything was over the top!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff were exceptional Food was impeccable Rooms are beautiful and comfortable Overall a wonderfully peaceful stay....could have stayed longer
Cons: Nothing

Excellent 9.2
Pros: Great location and very friendly staff.
Cons: Rooms got a little warm at night. Would've helped to have a fan in the room.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: breakfast was superb. Delicious full Scottish breakfast. very plentiful. best porridge I have ever eaten!
Cons: Bar wasn't particularly comfortable to sit in
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Breakfast was excellent with great service, a good choice and great food. The eggs Royale were spot on.
Cons: I didn’t like having to go back and forward for a teacup of coffee but then again I didn’t mention it and I’m sure they would have sorted that out. Our room was right at the corner and the traffic going to the ferry could be noisy first thing.

Pros: Nice location.
Cons: The room was so cold. And I got an illness due to coldness. The room had been able to change after I declared the coldness and an illness. But it had to be changed to more warmer room. Because the warmer room was available from the first place.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location and amazing and helpful staff! They helped me out with my travel plans, understanding the bus schedule and gave suggestions of where to eat in the area. I was lucky enough to be bumped up to a nicer room upon my arrival. They just seem like real people and they treat you as a real person, vs just another guest. If there's anything they can help with, they'll go the extra mile every time!
Cons: Not a damn thing!
Good 7.0

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The perfect combination of cosy stay but with newly renovated luxuries. The hosts go above and beyond to create a wonderful stay from organising or pointing you in the direction of unique experiences to providing a delicious, generous and very local Islay breakfast. We couldn’t recommend more highly!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Best breakfast I´ve had in a B&B ever. The Islay porridge is a must... Soo much to choose from and very fresh fruits and berries.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: everything
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We are so very grateful to Emma and Graeme for the most wonderful time that we spent at their house. They took such good care of us. Everything was perfect: from the first tea and cake that they welcomed us with to the last afternoon that we comfortably spent in the lounge (very generous tea and cake again!) long past the checkout time. They made reservations for dinner for us and took us back when our ferry was cancelled and called the port for us. Their breakfasts are amazing and stylish, Emma’s soaked fruit are to die for. We will for long remember our warm and cozy evenings by the fire place with tea (under 18) and whiskey (over). Along with the breathtaking views of Islay and Jura, the hospitality of Graeme and Emma’s family made our stay absolutely amazing.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast was awesome, food was plentiful and of excellent quality. A huge variety was available. Bedroom and ensuite shower were roomy and luxurious. Lounge areas were very comfortable and spacious. Hostess and Host were lovely people, particularly enjoyed Millie's tea!! Local knowledge and destination recommendation and their help with booking was wonderful. Best place we stayed on our trip through scotland.
Cons: There was nothing at all that we didn't like.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Emma was an excellent host! We enjoyed our stay so much and I will definitely be going back. This is THE place to stay on Islay!
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The hosts Emma and Graem are very helpful and gave us so many advices. We were worried about to staying without car hired, but we managed with buses and taxi in February (we only visited 3 distilleries). The house is absolutely beautiful, from furniture to plate ware. We definitely recommend to stay Grenagedale house in Islay.
Cons: Everything was fantastic but If I’m forced to mention, the shower was very weak in our room at that time.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is one of the best places I’ve stayed in . Food excellent. Warm welcome . We were even treated to a fiddle recital . Definitely a place to visit
Cons: Nothing . The weather perhaps but I’m sure Glenegedale could do nothing about that
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything! Decorated to perfection. Dining room and sitting areas are stunning. Bedroom was large and comfortable with pristinely clean bathroom.
Cons: Nothing.
