PROS: My room view.CONS: The two young men at the front desk were not welcoming to our arrival and gave us little information to the check in process or an orientation to how to get to our room. Just handed the key and looked away kind of greeting. The interaction was very minimal. Maybe it was a language or culture barrier but I felt an awkwardness in the air. We got to our room and the corner view of our room was beautiful. Online we booked two queens but were given a single king. Since we needed a bed for my sister we went back to the front desk asking for accommodation ( either another room with appropriate sleeping arrangements or a roll a away ). Since the hotel was booked they could only give us a roll away. But charge us another $400 that includes nightly roll a away plus extra person charge for the 4 nights we had intended to stay. Long story short, we had to argue that we would not pay another $400 in additional cost since that was not what we originally booked. I had to go back upstairs, grab a copy of my detailed receipt from my online booking to prove what I paid and what I booked for. It was not until then he got a manager who then agreeably delivers a roll away to our room with out charging the extra $400. During our stay the next few days, anytime we passed by the lobby, the front desk guys would turn their heads away from us - no smile, no hello, no eye contact. I honstely feel like they did not like us. Which is so sad because I am half Palauan, visiting Palau for the first time on a dive trip and to visit my Palauan relatives. (Not that being Palauan means anything more than the next person, but it meant a lot to me and visiting the island for the first time) On a side note, I agree with the other reviewers, the hotel caters to the Chinese just based on my observations and guest experience. Poor hospitality.
