The location is great, tucked into a quiet street but near many of the main attractions. The staff are all super nice, and it's nice to have a private place to put one's suitcase.
The walls are quite thin, so if someone is snoring in the bed next to you, you'll hear it.
Love the hospitality, the rooms (good size and close to bathroom), the laundry facilities and kitchen. Great location just 10-15 mins walk from Kyoto Station, and also close to temples and shrines and shops. Just a five minute bike ride to our favorite cafe, Walden Woods!
Nothing. It’s perfect here.
My bed look better in real than on the pics. It's a Japanese tradition tatami bed and it's very spacious. Every bed have their own window. Plus, a rooftop. It's a shame that nothing can't be done if it's too cold outside. The owner is a good man. If I may give some suggestions would be, make the commum room a bit more cozy and a folding table for each bed. A place to chill outside in front of the hostel would be nice! Plus, laundry only cost me 100 yens! I will be back if I had to come back to Kyoto.
The shower room but given what I have got, it's worth it.
Nice, private room for a great price. The compartments are set up like quadrants in a room, so you have a space that's bigger than a capsule but smaller than a Japanese style business hotel (mostly because there is someone above or below you, so you can't stand up in your room, but you can actually unpack your things, which is well worth it. Close to the subway and with a few decent food options nearby as well. Friendly, helpful staff, though the front desk is closed for part of the day.
Almost perfect. Only nitpick I had was the walls are thin and you could hear your bunkmates snoring / tossing and turning. But that's going to happen at most hostels / dorms anyway.
Not so great for couples
