The dinner and the breakfast were good, but not the best I have had. The room was a bit weary. But this is what I expected for a 3-star japanese hotel.
may need some renovation.
The service was impeccable, the staff was always smiling, helpful and they really are committed to letting you experience the traditional Japanese culture. The food was amazing!!! the presentation and the quality of all the food were really impressive. The room had a beautiful view which you could enjoy from a terrace and sleeping on the tatamis was fun as well. Don't miss the onsen (hot springs)! we were a little indecisive about trying it but at the end, we took the leap and it was awesome!.
It was an excellent cultural experience. Everyone was very accommodating, especially to someone that has little knowledge of the do’s and don’t’s. The dinner was fantastic and the surrounding area is also great. Also, I screwed up my arrival date and they were kind enough to change it for me. Be ready for the 1/2 mile hike uphill from the bus stop. It would also be easy to grab an Uber.
Super helping staff, even though their English is not so good. Nice onsen and view over Kyoto. A chance to wear a yukata inside. We stayed for 2 nights and it was great that dinner and breakfast were different.
Quite old rooms and the facilities. 8 am is a bit too early for the breakfast. It would be nice to have the menues in English and more explanations of what souce/spices/vegetables to eat with the dishes. Since we were coming straight from another onsen hotel which is much newer and better equipped and priced, we felt a bit disappointed to the shabby room and cigarette leftovers on the balcony. Otherwise everything went well and we got a good experience of a ryokan
Very nice and helpful staff. The baths was very good but strictly divided by gender.
My feet was too big for the provided slippers.
