The beds were quite comfortable and the staff were quite helpful with any questions I had.
The wifi in the room floors were not so great. Cut out frequently ans signal were weak
The couch in the cafe was comfortable. The cubby itself was nice; there was a ledge where I could put my things and I could keep my luggage right next to my bed. The bathroom had many shower stalls and there were toilet rooms on each floor. There is a bus stop close by and the station is 10 minutes away. Kiyomizu-dera is also close enough to walk to. There's a kimono rental shop across the street; I'm not sure how the service is.
The futon was very thin; my back or arms always hurt when I woke up. The hostel was in front of a busy intersection with lots of honking and ambulance noises.
The personal spoke better English
The first night I ocupied the upper bed box and the space was smelly. Following day I moved to a lower bed and it was fine. May be the air conditioning was not enough to clean odors.
We booked for 4 nights but after one night we needed to move on. The capsule beds were small and they didn't seem clean. We were squeezed in on the end of a long row of beds and had less space. There was an emergency fire device blocking the entrance to my bed and I had to squeeze between the ladder for the upper bunk and it to even get in. It overlooks a very busy street that is loud. It was super stuffy in there- I didn't realize there was a window that could open until when we were leaving but that would have helped a bunch. Being so crowded there just wasn't any room to feel chill. The bathroom was shoulder to shoulder, there was hair in the sinks and shower. The staff was pleasant enough- it's just for the money there are much better places that we found later nearby. If I was single and in my 20s I might have not minded it but it was definitely not my scene. I will say I did other capsule hotels that I liked just fine- this one just felt too crowded and a bit dirty due to the capacity.
Good location, nice environment, everything looks brand new
Matress was very worn out so very uncomfortable, the aircon heater on the room was very very loud at night, was like having someone hairdrying next to you. Showers only on second floor, very small kitchen for such big hostel. But you get what you pay for. You have to pay extra 200 yen to the room fare of city tax that I don't remember was written on any place at the booking moment.
