The hot tub was really nice. Very clean and cozy. The queen bed we had in our room was a memory foam and very comfortable.
There is no elevator. We were aware of this before coming and it was not a big issue as we were only on the second floor. The room was a bit cold and there didn't seem to be any exhaust fan in the bathroom, so everything steamed up when taking a shower.
Not clean enough, dust under the bed, razor plastic cover on sill.
Great location and charming decor in a faded sort of way. Free coffee/teas and brownies in the lobby were a nice treat. Beds were comfy and heat in room was easily controlled.
Everything needs a good, thorough cleanning, like a nosy mother-in-law who doesn't like you and will look in the corners cleaning. Bring back the vintage glory with simple things, like glueing the peeling wallpaper and caulking the window sills and grouting the tilework. The soap bars were paper thin and shampoo bottle was tiny and no hairdryer in the bathroom.
The building and our room were quite charming.
The two staff running the inn were extremely rude to us. The guests using the spa area were lambasted and made to feel like we had broken the hot tub. We were ordered out of the pool and told how much the broken part would cost them to replace. My daughter had not read the sign in advance of try to turn on the lights. The controls of the hot tub had obviously been an issue before as there was a sign saying only to press the one button for the jets. When we arrived it took us a few attempts at that button to get the jets to work. The hot tub continued to function after she pressed a different button until one of the staff came down, turned the hot tub off on us and made us feel like we were the ones who broken it. They later got the hot tub working again but there was no apology to us, or to the other guests who had not pressed any of the buttons. It was a shocking experience.
It is a really comfortable and homey place. The hot tub in the basement was a nice addition and the beds were super comfortable.
