Overview

Situated within a 20-minute walk from the city centre, De Roos Leeuwarden Bloementuin & Biodynamisch Ontbijt / de Roos offers country-styled rooms with free Wi-Fi. The WTC Expo is a 5-minutes’ drive. Free parking is available on the property's driveway. The rooms feature boxspring beds with down-feather duvets, grey and white walls, white linen and soft lighting. All are equipped with a desk and flat-screen TV. The bathroom is fitted with a rain shower and toilet. Our breakfast buffet is composed of biodynamic and locally sourced products. Everything served at our table is carefully selected: local, biodynamic and pure. Free from additives. A conscious choice, made with respect for people, animals and nature. We proudly collaborate with Demeter, the quality label for biodynamic agriculture, as well as Hofweb and Broodheeren—an icon in the world of sourdough bread, celebrated for exceptional craftsmanship and highly regarded within the Dutch and Belgian gastronomic scene. We work exclusively with the very best our country has to offer. The assortment found in conventional supermarkets or local bakeries does not align with our vision. Our commitment is to serve only the highest quality products to our guests. Biodynamic: a step beyond organic—one you can truly taste. De Roos offers a lounge garden to relax and recharge. A tennis court and communal swimming pool ‘De Blauwe Golf’ are within a 10-minute walk. The Frisian Museum is a 20-minute walk from the property.

Summary of reviews

Guests say
Guests consistently praised the breakfast for its quality, variety, and fresh ingredients, with many highlighting the unique and organic options. The atmosphere and decor were described as cozy, friendly, and welcoming, and the location was appreciated for its proximity to the city center. However, several guests were disappointed by the small room sizes, lack of personal service or staff presence, and some found the check-in process impersonal or inconvenient. Cleanliness was generally rated positively, though noise from the street and house rules were occasional concerns. Overall, the positives centered on breakfast, atmosphere, and location.
