The management went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We were very well looked after and of course the daily housekeeping did an excellent job keeping everything spotless and the added benefit of a daily towel change upon request just like a hotel! We had a first floor apartment with a balcony overlooking the garden square across the street which was such a lovely view of a typical london neighbourhood. The bedrooms can be made into twin or king beds at your request which is ideal for families. The living room had a tv with satellite channels and there also was a sofa bed which we didnt use but is convenient for bigger families who need an extra bed.
Nothing at all
Reception staff were very helpful! Bed was comfortable. Size of the apartment. Good range of kitchen appliances.
Some furniture was grubby and stained. Carpet was threadbare in places. Paint work was a little tired.
Clean apartment, helpful staff
Old carpets and dated furniture. Although they did have a temp aircon it was still very hot in the apartments. Would have been good to have top sheets as an option in stead of only duvets.
Location, space in the apartment
Excellent all round- highly recommended
The building from outside is very cute. The entrance is good. The apartments are quite nice (upon arrival they told us that we had been allocated a triple room because our two bedroom was unavailable for one night and that they were going to do everything for us, something larger hotels deny to do). The next day they moved everything to another three bedroom apartment. Just a little smaller and without a real terrace. But that was ok. The kitchen and rooms are good and service is excellent. The second apartment was much fresher and better finished. We went there in July and average temperature was 21. Bathrooms up to a good standard. Comfortable beds. There is a safe and enough storage space. Fridges do not have freezers. It does sport a steam iron (quite good actually) and washing machines do also work as driers, which is definitely a plus. Otherwise the kitchen apparels were perfectly clean and new. Absolutely worth going there with kids. Tv and dvd reader is a plus for them. WiFi is quite slow, and they say it. Connection to a mobile network is quite good. Much better than in the streets. Staff is very helpful and kind. We suggest to ask availability for a higher floor to get use of a lovely terrace, if you like to sit out. The area is quite calm and there is very little traffic. Many shops and pubs are really 5 minutes walk king distance, and you can have it all. Closest a underground is Earl’s Court, again, 5 minutes walking distance. Average time to go to Hyde Park Corner is 20 minutes from hotel door. Getting to Gatwick is a breeze.
These apartments are rather hot, even though the outside temperature was 21’ on average. I imagine in winter they are cold because the windows are single pane, old English style. There is no air conditioning, except for a loud unit in the living of the first apartment which was not enough for the room itself, least the whole flat. The carpet floors are not vacuumed very well, like in most hotels. The structure is old but well kept. It is pure British design... not modern but they do make an effort to keep it working well. The closets are old style, but the rest (sofas and tables) much more modern and pleasant. Slippers are not provided.
