Overview

On the lakeside promenade in Lugano, the Best Western Hotel Bellevue Au Lac, Lugano, Switzerland, is a hotel of long standing tradition with individually furnished rooms, balconies and fine views over the bay, free Wi-Fi, an open-air swimming pool, a restaurant set among palm trees serving Italian dishes, and a conference centre, a short walk from the centre. Right outside runs the lake promenade, with the old, shopping and business centre a short walk away and the boat pier and public transport close by, as well as private parking. Palm-lined gardens and benches line the sunny waterfront. Lugano is the largest town of Ticino, the Italian-speaking south of Switzerland, set on a glittering lake beneath sugarloaf peaks. Palm-fringed promenades and arcaded squares give the city a Mediterranean feel, funiculars climb two local peaks for sweeping views, and lake boats glide to shoreline villages and gardens. Mild winters and bright, warm summers make it a year-round escape.
