If you stay at this wonderful hotel you will not be disappointed. We arrived on a very wet evening, having gotten a little lost and soaked through in the process we were greeted by our lovely hosts who showed us to our beautiful room. The owner kindly reserved us a balcony room as we were travelling with our little dog, which had a beautiful view across the lake. We decided to stay in the hotel for some food and a lovely complimentary glass of prosecco which was most welcome! We had parked our car at the nearest car park, the next morning we were worried we might get a ticket - but to our surprise the kind hostess had gone to our car and paid for a couple of hours parking! Such a lovely touch and a pleasant surprise. The breakfast was also very good, with a stunning view on the terrace over the lake (thankfully it was a beautiful day in the morning). The people running this establishment obviously love what they do and it shows. Thank you for a really lovely one night stay.
There is really nothing to complain about here! If I had to pick I would say the restaurant food is a little basic for the money but certainly edible. Aside from this very small element it did not detract from our stay.
Beautifully located spot with lovely view. Very quiet, as there is no traffic (only reachable on foot). Placed directly at the footpath to Gandria (walk there, it's more than worth it). Great terrace, especially for having a breakfast in the morning sun. Small, but nice, private "beach" for swimming in the lake, for hotel guests only, with deck chairs etc. to use.
Even for Swiss standards, we found the meals extremely expensive. The place to park your car has a very limited number of places. Keep in mind that when you arrive in the weekend, it will be extra crowded as it is used by guests of the Lido as well. It is a paid parking with a machine that accepts only coins!! Be sure to have enough with you!! If the area if full, only option is to park much further away of, if available, make use of the blue zone, which of course is limited in max. parking time. The private "beach" suffered from the problem often seen at similar places: guests "claiming" their spot by leaving their towel hanging over a chair, even if they aren't there for several hours in a row. Might help to put some kind of sign up that this is not appreciated and that e.g. towels will be removed if left unattended for more than 1 hour.
Dinner and breakfast were lovely
Unawear we had to walk a mile to get there
The view and quietness of the place, priceless!
The access to the hotel. First it was difficult to find it, even the gps could not locate it. Then when we arrived we found out that we had to walk around ten minutes through a narrow path not suitable for wheeled suitcases... it was midnight when we arrived and we were tired. Next day we had to check out at 10:30...
