With a stay at The Old Wailuku Inn at Ulupono in Wailuku, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Maui Nui Botanical Gardens and Maui Arts and Cultural Center. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Everything was great! The breakfast was very good and it was really nice eating and therefore interacting with the other guests. The bed was very comfortable and the rainshower amazing. We liked the surroundings aswell. The Innkeepers are very friendly and give you tips whenever they can. We enjoyed our stay here very much!
Pros: Scrumptious Breakfasts. Wonderful Gardens and Yard. I stayed in the Plumeria Room and the shower was to die for! Charming antiques abound and everyone was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
Pros: Staff were amazing. Loved the atmosphere of the inn. The bed was very comfy.
Pros: The breakfasts were excellent - original, delicious and wonderfully presented. The breakfast and sitting rooms, as well as the bedroom, were beautifully decorated and the garden was a lovely place to sit and relax. Tom and Janice are very friendly and welcoming hosts and were very helpful with recommendations of places to visit/eat. And they have thought of lots of little extras to make your stay more comfortable such as beach towels/mats/parasols, and tea and snacks available. The guest house is in the perfect position to visit lots of places on the island. We would definitely return.
Cons: The room was a little small and there was a musty smell in the corridor outside it but these didn't spoil the holiday.
Pros: Loved everything about the place. It's a beautiful, charming inn. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a homey feel to it. Kind staff and several great amenities, which makes for a lovely stay!
Cons: Recycling bins would be nice.
Pros: I had a fall while out and about and the team were very helpful, helped my wife no end... Thank you again
Pros: The central location of the B&B made this a good staging point for trips to other parts of the island. The B&B was well equipped with the little extras to make your stay comfortable and the hosts were quite pleasant and helpful. The prepared breakfasts were very tasty and original.
Cons: While the immediate grounds were quite nice, the centralized location was also next to a busy road and some run down housing. This, however, would not influence my decision to recommend this lovely B&B to others though.
Pros: Good food and great staff.
Pros: This is a really nice property well located a short walk into Central Kahului. I had the Plumeria room - spacious and nicely decorated. The ladies offered a nice communal breakfast, with the menu changing daily, and a willingness to accommodate any and all dietary needs. If you want a base to explore Maui and don’t need a beach or pool, this is a super option. I would definitely go back.
Pros: This was a pleasant change from staying in a large resort type hotel. Felt like being at home. Great shower!

Cons: To pay 30 usd for parking is too much and no tea in the room
Pros: Excellent bistro breakfast of ricotta pancakes!
Cons: The price.
Pros: Convenient location for our needs and purposes.
Cons: Better room maintenance - shower valve was broken. Only had really cold or really hot water. An in-room safe would be nice to store valuables.
Pros: The shuttle service is amazing and the dining deliciously affordable!
Cons: Nothing at all.
Pros: The location was great for doing what we wanted and was close to the airport which was very nice. The staff we encountered was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: I registered as a guest with 4 adults in the room. However, each night of our stay, we only had 3 bath towels. We requested one more the first night and it was delivered fairly quickly. We didn't ask for one the next night because we got in late, and one person had to use the small towels. I think the person who cleans the rooms should know how many guests there are and how many towels to leave. That was inconvenient.
Pros: Very nice staff and great customer service and love the rooms very nice and you guys are the best hotel that I ever rent for one night thank you for guys for my stay at the courtyard
Pros: Within minutes of Kahului Airport is a definite plus for those who don't want to deal with traffic any more than they have to. Hotel parking was adequate and we appreciated that there wasn't an upcharge for it.
Cons: Just an observation rather than a complaint, but even for Hawaii the food choices are somewhat limited and costly. My guess is the majority of guests go elsewhere for their snacks and meals. Added fees/taxes can dissuade some from making a reservation.
Pros: Amazing receptionist! Extremely helpful and understanding of our needs
Pros: It was so close to the airport and very quiet.
Pros: We had a great time at this location. Close to family and friends. Will stay there again when we visit our family and friends,
Cons: Didn’ t find anything that we didn’t like.
Pros: Good location, easy access to airport
Cons: Poor value for money. The room had no safe, no bottled water, lousy coffee. Parking spaces were tiny, and they charged for them. Few bathroom amenities, no bathrobes. For $400+ I would expect a free breakfast and a much nicer room. And the elevators were slow too.
Pros: It was close to the airport. The pool area was nice!
Cons: There was no access to outdoor space from the room.
Removed from the hotel / resort beachfront crowds, the 2.1 acre Banyan Tree Estate simply overflows with peace and Hawaiiana. Giant Banyan, Monkeypod and Jacaranda trees create a peaceful, shady oasis a midst the fruit trees, flowers and wide open lawns. Several swings and hammocks hang from the trees offering comfortable private places. Our 50' salt water swimming pool and Hot tub offers spectacular ocean and mountain views. We are just a short walk to the quaint Cowboy town of Makawao, and 15 minutes to Paia and Ho'okipa, the internationally-renown windsurfing mecca of Maui's spectacular north shore! On the cusp of the wet and dry sides of the island, the Banyan Tree House usually is bathed in sunshine interspersed with occasional rain showers and heavier tropical rain. In the surrounding hills you have the finest hiking, biking and horseback riding on the island. There are two golf courses in the area. Telephone, fax, wireless internet and laundry facilities included on the premises. Keywords: 9 Bed Room Estate. Consisting of 3 suites and a small bedroom in the Plantation house with 5 additional cottages, one of which has two separate bedrooms. all bedrooms have their own private bath
Pros: The free breakfast...Didn't had time to eat breakfast due to the early morning departures. They left the breakfast items, I guess all day in the open. Returned in the evening to find it still outside in the open.
Cons: No television. A better rug for the shower, very slipppery! Better instructions if when departure is in the earlier part of the morning.
Pros: Easy access for Hana Highway and Haleakala National Park, and even the beaches near Paia and Kihei. The town of Makawao is small and manageable with sites of historical interest as well as classy shops and art galleries where you are hosted by the incredible artists themselves. There's even a deli centrally located with boutique bread and delicious hot food to take on your way.
Cons: The premises are lovely but the accommodations inside are not laid out in a comfortable way. In our cabin, there was space but nowhere to eat the breakfast that was served in our room. Also, the small kitchen area with the refrigerator was located immediately to the side of our bed. The buildings are old, which adds to the retreat feeling, but are not kept up properly so you can't really fully enjoy the laid back feeling. In addition, there's a pool but it does not seem inviting and we didn't notice anyone near it for the three days we stayed there. A bit of a shame for a pretty spectacular setting. The staff is helpful and available for any requests or issues, but the infrastructure just needs a bit more care to make this a more attractive b&b option.
Pros: Location was good
Cons: No onsite customer service; Common area, pool and not maintained.
Pros: Cool and fresh air and yard. Simple but refreshing breakfast prepared and delivered to the room door . The host is very helpful !
Cons: Facility is kind of over used
Pros: Breakfast was left outside our room at 7 am. Large room and comfortable bed Quiet
Pros: We loved the grounds. The garden was an oasis with many flowers, trees, lovely landscaping. It was nice and quiet especially at night. The swimming pool and barbecue were nice. The breakfast was simple, healthy, and good.
Pros: Pool by the lush garden, view, quietness, secluded location, lovely host, good breakfast
Pros: Staying at the property is like sleeping in a garden. If you want to escape the resorts and stay in a place that gives you a feel of "Old Hawaii", this is it. Beautiful property. Nice pool (with great view) to relax or cool off in. Cute room w/ super comfy beds. Definitely will stay here again when coming back to upcountry Maui.
Pros: Helaina was extremely nice and welcoming, got to chatting a bit and got to know her. Room was spotless, beds were lovely, had a microwave, stove top, fridge and coffee maker, what else can you ask for, practically a condo in a very easily location to find. Great spot to stay over if your coming in from Lahaina or Hana to see the Haleakala sunrise, about 40mins from summit entrance, side note town is very nice as well!!
Cons: Hard to say what we did not like, everything was great!!
Pros: Great location and the grounds were pretty.
Located on 23 lush oceanfront acres at legendary Pu‘u Keka‘a on Ka‘anapali Beach, Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa invites travelers to experience adventure, romance and family fun on the island of Maui. Relax at the resort’s 142-yard lagoon style pool, taste fresh island cuisine, learn indigenous Hawaiian cultural activities and play at the white sandy beach. Eighty-three percent of the resort’s 508 rooms and suites feature breathtaking views of the Pacific, and sister islands Lanai and Molokai. At sunset, the resort showcases its iconic cliff dive ceremony, a tradition since the resort first opened in 1963. Make lasting memories as you unwind during sunset, snorkel with tropical fish and honu (green sea turtles), learn ukulele with family or rejuvenate at The Spa at Black Rock.
Pros: Breathtaking view from our ocean front room, soft & comfy bed, delicious food & refreshing drinks, amazing pool, romantic luau, friendly staff... definitely will stay here again & highly recommend!
Pros: Breakfast served every morning while pricey was excellent.
Cons: Cost for breakfast at the resort was high.
Pros: Bed was very comfortable. I called the front desk the first night because we saw a large roach on our deck. Eww. The last that answered said, "well you are in the Tropics now!!!!" Didn't like that comment. She could have asked if our deck could be sprayed!
Cons: See above
Pros: We loved everything.
Cons: The family we were with had to shower in our room because their room was not ready when promised by the hotel. We had 8 people get ready in a hour for a wedding proposal and almost missed the boat where it took place. Our room was a mess after that.
Cons: For the money I paid for my room I did not get what I paid for
Pros: Great location, nice beach, room was clean and spacious, the concierges were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the restaurant staff was friendly.
Cons: Confirming the parking policy was a nightmare. I asked the front desk in person and an unfriendly lady told me something that didn't match what was written in a card I later found in my room. Then I called the front desk and another lady told me something even more different. To make matters worse the valet guy told me another different version. I just gave up trying to figure it out and parked my one night rental regardless. I then was able to confirm my understanding that I was entitled to one free night. The hotel should make this policy more clear and train its staff to give objective and concise information.
Pros: I liked the views
Cons: Too noisy, rude unprofessional staff, lost a bag of our snacks and food and was never found
Pros: It’s very close to Lahaina town so it’s very convenience, it has a few pools and a nice beach in front the breakfast it’s amazing
Cons: It’s huge huge so you need to walk long distance from one place to others. Restaurants inside close very early 9pm and it has not so many options on the menu.
Pros: Upgraded ocean front room with a stunning view, large bathroom&room, staff was extremely helpful, free parking for the first night was included
Cons: lack of shade near the pool/bar area, we were quoted 55$ for an umbrella and 2 chairs - this is ridiculous in a hotel which charges 500$ per night
Pros: LOVED this resort. Worlds better than what we expected.
Pros: We loved the size of the room and the resort. The pool was fantastic and the free shuttle to town was great as well.
Cons: The kettle didn’t work. Half the power points didn’t work. It would of also been nice to have a complimentary breakfast since we were paying so much for a nightly rate
With a stay at Lumeria Maui, you'll be centrally located in Makawao, within a 15-minute drive of Hookipa Beach Park and Lower Paia Park. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: We had the king suite ocean view (best room in the resort) and it was not worth the upgrade. There really wasn’t an ocean view and the suite did not offer anything more than a king room other than more floor space. Also, the breakfast was the same every morning, some variety would have been nice.
Pros: Beautiful and tranquil property.
Cons: There was a few too many bugs for me.
Pros: The staff was far beyond my expectations. Spa services were fantastic.
Pros: The property was absolutely beautiful! The rooms were so beautiful and the beds were comfortable. The food and staff were so warm and welcoming. I will absolutely be returning!
Pros: Gorgeous grounds, friendly staff, nice breakfast, peaceful setting, and massage
Cons: Ingress/egress to property. Limited ammenities
Pros: Quite beautiful facility
Cons: I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL 1) Really far from everything. Unless you windsurf and you want to stay on the north shore don't go there at all. 2) The most unfriendly staff I've seen in ages. They are not prefessionals in hospitality business so they don't care about your experience. You will not feel welcomed, you will not feel taken care of... 3) Worst breakfast I've seen. 1 choince of ceereal! 4 non eatable main entrees e.g. potatoes, scrabled eggs, soussages. Only water to drink. If you wan't standard milk (which is not available) they charge extra $5 for glass of it 4) Incredibly dirty. There are many cats, chickens living on the territory. They crap is everywhere and it is not cleaned 5) Very noisy: (a) you can say every word people say in adjacent rooms, (b) chickens and other birds wake up at 5 am so will you; (c) all rooms face internal garden - you will not be able to sleep because people e.g. will be listening to music in jaquzi, etc. 6) No staff after 9 p.m. And so on and so forth... This place is worth $150 a night max!!!
Pros: Loved the quiet, serenity. It almost felt like I had the whole place to myself. Breakfast was very good as was the restaurant in general, super fresh and not overdone.
Cons: Can’t think of anything.
Pros: the garden was really amazing
Cons: the windows had some problems to be opened
Pros: Food selection for Breakfast and Lunch could be a little more diverse. Dinner was fantastic. Food Services are needed on the off hours.
Pros: Beautiful grounds, very peaceful. Great location upcountry. Good breakfast included! Our room was very nice. Wish we could have stayed longer to participate in classes/activities.
Cons: My husband snores, and was worried he disturbed those in rooms next to us do to open windows looking out on shared porch. The grounds are so quiet, he felt he was too loud. Rooms need brighter lights/lamps for reading.
Pros: I stayed here in June, 2018. My plane was delayed, and I was worried nobody would be there when I would arrive at 11pm. I called the phone number on the website and reached some lady, definitely not the hotel. I tried another number that I found on a travel website, no answer. So I emailed them early in the day. They replied right away. In the meantime, I found their correct number somewhere, finally talked to someone. She was very helpful and gave me some good advice to get some dinner as soon as I arrive because places stay to close early. She explained there is someone on premises 24 hours per day, and indeed I met the night watchman when I arrived. Then I realized the place is legit, to my relief. I was delighted by everything. My room reminded me of an old house in Asia. The blinds operate by a mechanism that I became familiar with in Japan. Overall the place seemed to have been designed by an Asian architect long ago. The wood is beautiful and looks old. There are some leviathan quartz and amethyst crystals that might make this place the center of energy in Maui. The whole place does give you a positive spiritual-feeling vibe. The grounds are gorgeous and arranged in a way that appeals to the soul. Staff are wonderful, breakfast delicious, unique and healthy. I totally loved the place and think it is everything it is meant to be and that you would expect. Being of older design, it doesn’t have air conditioning, or televisions... you are forced to live a little closer to nature and your surroundings, but that makes it more relaxing and good for your soul. If you are used to air conditioning, you might feel hot and sticky at first, but after a shower (the water is hot if you want, but a lukewarm shower will cool you down), I didn’t sweat. The ceiling fan is enough to keep you plenty cool, and I even had to cover up with the comforter dusting the night. The air temperature in Hawaii, let alone up on a hill like the hotel, is by no means hot.
Cons: There was nothing I didn’t like.

Pros: The hotel is super close to the ocean, you do not even have to cross the road. The room is cozy, fully renovated and extra clean. Wonderful stay.
Pros: I didn't eat breakfast.
Cons: More parking would be nice.
Pros: great value, great beach and safe snorkel location with easy access, comfy bed and clean.
Cons: very small bathroom if you are a size xl or larger, but worked for time there and price...wonderful sunset view and beach access...
Pros: location and staff were great
Cons: beds were too hard, pillows were way too big and very hard. Fan in bathroom was tied to bathroom light which was way too bright and fan really loud (probably breaking down). Could clearly hear people in room attached to ours which we did not know was the situation before we rented. Could also hear people walking around above us. Some other rooms were probably way better.
Pros: Location near beach
Cons: No pool
Pros: The location to the beach was wonderful!
Cons: Very old and needs updating. Very small room.
Pros: The location was great, some of the staff was rude but the location great
Cons: The phone didn't work and the room smelled musty
Pros: Walking distance to shops and steps away from the beach!
Pros: It was clean.
Cons: The room was too small.
Pros: Location was few mins walk to the beach. Easy check in and check out
Cons: Small room and restroom
Pros: Cozy and clean. Close to beach
Pros: Right on the beach which was great

Guests can enjoy our large pool, jogging trails or dine at our newly renovated restaurant. The Maui Seaside - where paradise doesn't have to cost a fortune.
Cons: The whole place was worn down and reeked of mildew and mild. I would not stay here again. The pictures online were deceptive.
Pros: The hotel itself was great, beautiful seaside view, bonus that they had a guest laundry, just not much to do nearby unfortunately, definitely need a car if you're staying here.
Pros: The staff was very helpful and seem to really enjoy their job.
Cons: Maybe a larger refrigerator
Pros: This place was perfect clean and the staff was so nice !! Thank you we will stay again!!
Pros: Good to have water machine in lobby. Good looking lobby area.
Cons: Except the pool areas every thing felt like a 1-2 start motel.
Pros: Nice condo with access to a pool. A small beach just across the street. The amenities are great. There are washer dryer inside the condo. The balcony is a really good size to hangout. They provide all you need for a day to the beach.
Cons: Can’t really walk to restaurants or shops or even a better beach.
Cons: ants in the room
Pros: Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great breeze by pool, a few steps to private little beach
Cons: Rooms facing away from pool areas look like section 8 motel on outside. Get room facing pool. Very quiet.
Pros: The view
Cons: Parking is crowded
Pros: Staff is SUPER friendly. I’m really happy that they didn’t try to give me a hard time about anything that I asked for.

The bed and breakfast is 2.1 km from Makawao Park. Kahului Airport is 11 km away.
Pros: Great location. Convenient to many upcountry/north shore beach spots.
Cons: The 'light' breakfast shouldn't even be considered as part of the package: Nature Valley granola bar, Quaker instant oatmeal, fruit cup, Folgers coffee. Considering all the great fresh local produce and coffee that's available, it borders on inexcusable. The giant cane spider that showed up in our room & freaked my wife out didn't help matters.
Pros: We liked the vibes of this place Good value for the rate Very clean, quite and near the airport Honors will provide all you need
Cons: Very simple furniture and service
Pros: Good Location and very quiet stay
Cons: If I can say something is the bed lol
Cons: Dirty. Really uncomfortable beds Bugs everywhere POOR breakfast - don’t offer breakfast inclusive and give guest a muesli bar for breakfast daily . When you ask for milk they answer is : is very expensive . Excuse me but with the fortune you charge I’m sure you can buy some milk . Do not recommend . If you can pay a bit more to be more comfortable do it . Noisy . It has not been one night of good sleep at all .
Pros: Beautiful grounds. Large room, nice breakfast set up. Good library of books on Hawaii to look at.
Cons: Nothing. The only slight problem for us is we didn’t come with a car and it was a bit far to walk anywhere this made worse by fact the roads have no sidewalk in the area so dangerous with sharp blind bends.
Pros: Our room was very clean and the owners were very sweet
Pros: The hosts were so friendly, and the accommodations and amenities were wonderful. Beautiful location and very comfortable set up with outdoor shower, hot tub, and lounge area. The guest kitchen was very nice and organized. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean.
Cons: The only minor complaint is that there wasn't air conditioning, but that definitely wouldn't keep me from staying there again.
Pros: Very loud with people coming in and out. Most the people were very nice. Just be sure to read all the fine print. I just read the deadline.
Cons: That it was under a B&B. It is not.!!!! We paid $112.00 for two people at a Hostile.
Pros: Peacefulness of the location
Pros: No fuss. No one really bothered you.
Cons: There's no air in the units just a fan and the ability to open the window. With that came a lot of bugs.
Pros: Close to Haleakala Park (about 30-45 mins away) Great place to stay over night for next day Haleakaia Park visit.
Set on Kahului Harbor, this modern hotel is 2.6 miles from Kahului Airport, 2.7 miles from Kanaha Beach Park and 5 miles from Iao Valley State Park.
Cons: Coffee in room pretty bad.
Pros: for exploring the crater and the road to Hana it is an excellent starting point. On the beach.
Cons: If you select the location on the map, you reccon it is close to a small town, it is but this small town has no restaurant accommodations besides the regular you will find in many US malls. So no Hawaiian spirit close, have to drive 7 miles.
Pros: Friendly staff. Decent view of sunrise and sunset.
Cons: 15$ per day “amenity” fees and 5$ per day parking. Just a heads up. Booked two days at 165$ a day and after all hidden fees and such it came to 225$ a day. Also they give one coffee pouch a day (technically 2 but I don’t drink decaf) and if you’d like more it’s 2$. Staff is super nice so there’s that.
Pros: The location for our business trip was perfect. It was a good value.
Pros: Helpful and friendly staff
Pros: Coffee and cold water during the day Shopping center walking distance away! Beautiful lawn for playing games. Nice view of beach and harbor. Toilet backed up and a workman came up immediately and fixed it! Thank goodness! Good service! Its old style and a lovely convenient location to airport.
Cons: We were looking for grills so we could make dinner! We liked getting coffee in the lobby.
Pros: Great location for airport and free shuttle
Cons: A bit tired and old looking.
Pros: Location to airport
Cons: Cleanliness and odor in the room
Cons: A lot of extra fees that weren't shared until checking in - what appears to be a cheaper hotel compared to the hotels around actually turned out to be more expensive.
Pros: Lots of activities, great staff service, wonderful restaurants, very comfortable room, excellent location.
Cons: Shuttle to the airport.
Pros: Location close to airport
Cons: Right for renovation -or complete redo. Handicap facilities are not there. We had asked for wheelchair access and given single bed with no ADA adaptations. Door knob fell off from inside. “Ocean view” is through dirty and sloppily repaired window. Very disappointed
Pros: Comfortable and close to the airport with parking
Cons: Filthy. There were large centipedes inside the rooms, the beds sheets were sticky, and there were old men literally living there. Horrible!
Pros: Despite being Trump supporters, the owners were friendly.
Cons: The location was not really near anything and the toilet paper often ran out with untimely replacements.
With a stay at Hostel City Maui - 1 in Wailuku, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Maui Nui Botanical Gardens and Maui Arts and Cultural Center. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: the information for check in was clear and quick response. Cheapest place in Maui some good places to eat in the neiborhood
Cons: there was no kitchen or common rooms, the beds are very instable and not confortable, it is oppressing
Cons: There was wash towels and cups and AC
Pros: The staff was wonderful, very friendly. Showed me where a sacred place was, that most travelers never hear about. Turned out to be one of the best parts of the trip!
Cons: It seemed a little run down, and the guests were not of the highest "standard." I personally wouldn't take young children there. But, overall a very good value for the price.
Pros: Staff was excellent
Cons: Just a recommendation: book another, nice accomodation far in advance or you'll get stranded in this spot, as we did....
Pros: Towels prepared. Parking possible.
Cons: Rooms are very small and old. There is no vibe around. No other travelers. There are so.many better hostels nearby.
Pros: For the price you can’t go wrong. Walls are paper thin but it is a Hostel. I was lucky and had the room all to myself. Free parking. Free WIFI
Cons: Fan maybe in the room. Parking lot is kinda tight. Noisy people late at night. Shower head couldn’t adjust. Went one way, to the wall.
Pros: Very friendly. I plan to return
Cons: Lighting in room. You need someone in front office
Pros: Location, fast food and restraurant are near by.
Pros: Hostel City 1 has been closed for 2 months. Reservations were transfered to Hostel City 2 which was very acceptable.
Pros: I like the place itself and the people are respectful.
Pros: Confortable bed & pillows. Clean sheets towels. Floor little gritty from wind. Screens also. Overall no complaints. Served our purpose well. Mahalo.
