10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice clean and comfortable place for stay All staffs are very friendly and helpful and they have a great service
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Overall the hotel was charming externally and internally. The hotel accommodated our request as much as possible, within a short notice period. The turn-down service with 'kueh' and arrangement petals of flower (bathtub) in the evening after we checked-in few hours later was unexpected. Hereby, I would like to recommend the hotel to set up an aromatherapy diffuser within the vicinity of hotel entrance.
Cons: I wished the hot water system in the bathroom could have been centralised without adjusting the temperature by opening the cold water on ourself. There are still space for an improvement on the toilet amenities packaging or presentation. Quality of the broadcasted TV channel also could have been improvised.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The service and breakfast was excellent
Cons: The pool is a bit too small
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely. The bathroom in particular was very special. The free guided was excellent... interesting, informative and different from the normal spots In malacca. The hotels own gin was brilliant.
Cons: The breakfast room is up stairs and we had a pram with us. The swimming pool is squeezed in, and could be more attractive.

Pros: The staff are friendly
Cons: It will be better if they have more fans
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location was great!
Cons: There were lots of different reception staff most of which were indifferent to the point of rude. We were not told of any details when we checked in and were not given a towel-we felt quite uncomfortable. It is a shame as we briefly met Ringo who seemed lovely and another staff member was also helpful but it did not set a good tone from arrival. Breakfast was also very small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really enjoy my stay at Ringo's Foyer. The host, Howard makes an effort to introduce everyone staying there and there is a bike tour by them that is quite worthy.
Cons: Nil
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was but a capsule hotel, but it was nice and clean - and i just had the feeling of "being comfortable", which i think is not easy for a hotel to create. Good atmosphere.
Cons: Equipment can be upgraded, although it's already good enough
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, stunning rooftop terrace, nice staff! They organize free bike tours, night market etc. I highly recommend this place!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Community and owner - owner engages with the people and there is great community of travellers helping each other out.
6.3 Good
Pros: The ambience is amazing, and if the facilities properly worked, I would have rated it way higher. Cause it is a really nice place, the bedcabins are great, good lounge areas and the breakfast is amazing! But toilets and showers not working for multiple evenings is a problem (the owner did what he could with buckets of water).
Cons: Facilities not working properly for multiple nights.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was close to everything you would need to visit in Melaka. Rooms are clean and staff are very friendly and helpful in recommending places to visit and eat at.

Receptionist had fairly bad customer service due to lack of room readiness, wanted to change my room to two single beds despite well aware the fact the room I booked strongly suggested a extra large king size bed. Please train your staff to be more courteous and proactive in serving your customers with better services rather than offering a bad solution.

Da Som Inn - Malacca - Bedroom

8.5 Excellent (232 reviews)
C$ 40+
Overview Reviews
We are an art speciality boutique hotel at the centre of UNESCO’s world cultural heritage site. Strategically located at No. 28 Jalan Tukang Emas (Goldsmith Street) aka Harmony Street, Malacca, Malaysia. To truly reflect its harmony status, it is a diversified place of various settlements -Indian settlement (234 years old Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi temple (1781), Malay settlement (267 years old Kampung Kling mosque (1748) and Chinese settlement (370 years old Cheng Hoon Teng temple (1645) on the same street within 1 to 2 minutes walking distance. Not to leave out the European settlement nearby (504 Years A Famosa Fortress (1511), Christ Church (1753), Stadthuys (1650). Our hotel is an old but well maintained building within the Dutch Settlement area (trace back to year 1611) with unique 200 feet long, thick wall and underground sewerage pipes. It has witnessed the history of Malacca Empire and the modern world. Although it has been refurbished, renovated and re-renovated, yet and surprisingly, it was a lovely home, a trade centre, a factory before it was turned into a hotel. Built with 3 air well areas, you can enjoy any of the hotel rooms (with windows) which are air conditioned and fan equipped. Comfortable duvet, pillows and bed will embrace you upon your check in. Free wifi is also available. A variety of breakfast will be served on each different day while American breakfast is always available upon request. 24 hours 7 days a week of free flow of coffee, tea, RO water, milk, juice, cereals and biscuits are ready to serve you at anytime even at midnight or in the wee hours. Outside the hotel, you will see a different world of modern marvel with delicious nyonya and local food such as cendol or durian puff at famous Jonker Street aka Chinatown (next to Harmony street) and world of ancient art with museums and art galleries at Heeren Street (next to Jonker street). Let’s also enjoy the thrill of visiting the old A Famosa fortress, Stadthuys, ruins of St Paul’s church (1521), Queen Elizeberth fountain or enjoy and stop by at modern Hard Rock Café or the Geographer Café for a drink. All within 5 minutes walking distance from this strategically located hotel. So....Let’s relax and enjoy, refresh and replenish!

Cons: Level 3 with very steep, narrow stairs and the corridor is poorly lit which leads to an increase in safety risk. Request for a lower level room was not met in spite of stating in writing beforehand that one of the guests is an elderly person. Offer by the hotel to move to a lower level room( downgrading) was without an offer to discount the price paid for a Grand Deluxe room. Bathroom was still see through when lit in spite of blinds. No newspapers. Price does not meet expectations. The staff is, however, quite friendly and helpful.

7.9 Good
Pros: The bed is nice especially the pillow. So confortable and refreshing when i woke up in the morning
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff who briefed my friend at the reception. He was exceptional.
Cons: The room allocated for me was not ready and they needed more than an hour to get it ready, and I was downgraded to a double room instead. The female front office staff who attended to me did not brief me as good as the other male staff who attended my friend. There was an event at the coffee house with very loud PA system. Events should be done in enclosed areas.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Every time the staff will miss to place hand towel.

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The view
Cons: Booked 4 rooms via 3 bookings because we decided to add more rooms for our weekend in Melaka. An unfortunate twist of expectation as we were faced with series of unpleasant encounters, there goes: 1. UNNECESSARY EXTRA BEDS: We decided not to add extra beds to our rooms when we checked in. The reception even called to CONFIRM it. Hours later, doors are knocked and the hotel staff showed up on the door with extra beds. We politely reminded that the beds are not needed anymore (the staff showed signs of irritation though). When we returned to our rooms at midnight, BAM! the extra beds are there in 2 of our bedrooms. At this point we are uncertain whether this was a miscommunication among the management or the they simply just want to shove those extra beds somewhere (our rooms) 2. HASSLE DURING BILLING: When we settled our bills, to our surprise the bills were almost 30% more than stated in our booking fees. The staff explained that the prices are seasonal and the hotel had high occupancies that night. LOL WHAT? Thereafter the supervisor (I assumed) took over and the subsequent confusion continues. Like I said, we booked 4 rooms via 3 bookings, but when the bills came, they came in 2 separate bills. This would not have caused SO much confusion had it been 3 bills instead of 2, each from the booking we made. We ended up spending 1 hour ++ figuring out where the numbers come from. 3. LATE CHECK-IN: 1 of our rooms was only checked in at 3:30 PM (Check-in time was 2PM). 4. ELEVATORS MALFUNCTION: In Lift 1, all floors can be accessed using 1 guest/room card. In Lift 2, even better, all floors can be access without the card. 5. Hotel rooms that smelled MUSTY rendered us BREATHLESS
