Central location, clean accommodations.
A little kitchy with the vinyl graphics on the wall. Could be classier with just a good color coordinated paint.
Some of the rooms had cool designs. The location was good. The room had both air conditioning and an overhead fan.
I have many negative things to say about this hotel. There were only 2 other rooms booked the night we were there, and yet we were given what was clearly the least preferable room in our category. The room was dark, the blinds had to stay closed because the only window opened to the hallway where people passed (luckily the hotel was mostly empty.). The overhead lamp was dim, and the night table lamp was broken. The bathroom smelled like mildew. I peeked into a couple other rooms, also with 2 double beds, and they did admittedly have better light, and air, and didn’t appear to smell. I wish we’d been offered one of them. Then there was the issue of water. Water was available only in coolers in the hallway. None of the coolers had cups nearby, so we had to ask for them. We were surprised, and disappointed, that a “hip” and stylized hotel like this would be offering styrofoam cups, which are both unstylish and extremely unecological. My daughters said we could not accept using styrofoam (good for them!). The owner (or maybe manager?) came out and said “what’s the problem?” and basically told me that a) it’s a fact that guests prefer, and even requested styrofoam (really??) and b) that I had every right to reject it and go without water if I wanted to. I tried to convince him to consider a different kind of thermal cup (there are plenty in the market today) and he actually told me that he’d have to raise the cost of the rooms if he were to provide different cups. (??!!) Many very fine and very inexpensive hotels (and hostels) provide, say, glasses inside a room that can hold hot and cold, and don’t pollute the planet... but anyway... We had just come from a hotel a few blocks away, which unfortunately didn’t have a room for us for a fourth night. The difference was enormous. The staff there was lovely and accommodating, anxious to make us comfortable and help us with plans in and outside the city.
