It was a good place for a stopover on the journey back to England though the instructions to get it were slightly misleading and it' not actually in Mespelbrunn village.The manager /owner was very receptive to the idea of an additional element for breakfast - nuts and seeds for the cereal.The breakfast was nevertheless pretty good.The restaurant was closed on a Monday so I went to the Engel in Mespelbrunn ( a 5 minute drive and about the only place open )and ate well, if a little expensively.

Very pleasant spacious room and good bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Friendly proprietor.

Hotel was closed on arrival at 4.00pm had to telephone. Restaurant and bar closed as it was the "rest day".
