Nothing. This place has no customer service and no Integrity whatsoever.
5 times in CR and this was our only disappointment! The woman at the front desk didnt speak any English but she told us that she worked in the hotel industry in USA for 20+ years in Mississippi or something like that. And she didn't pick up any English? What a con!! When I emailed before our arrival, a gentleman said no AC but when we checked in we asked again. The woman said yes they have air!! So I was very excited. We go to the room and I asked her where the air conditioning is. She points to the ceiling fan. Again. Don't tell me she doesn't know the words "air conditioning" especially working at a hotel in the south!! It was VERY hot in the room. We called the manager on the phone and told her that we cannot check in and stay there b/c of heat. She said just to stay for one night and try it. I told her no because I have fibromyalgia. I explained that I need a good sleep or my pain is Amplified. She proceeded to tell me about my syndrome. Quite incorrectly I might add. She said that fibromyalgia is arthritis and it doesn't have anything at all to do with your quality of sleep. I tried educating her and we just kept arguing. I told her we would try it for one night. The lady told us to open the windows. The windows were maybe about 1/10th of the entire window but we opened them and went out to eat. We came back and the room was full of insects! All kinds! And there was some type of reptile poop on the bathroom floor now. Definitely could have been a snake. I Googled it. Also, could not sit on toilet properly bc it was pushed up to shower door and all the rooms are like 10ft from the main road!! LOUD! We called and spoke to a very rude man. He said he would not give our money back and challenged me to go and leave him a bad review - that he didn't care! I do not believe he is a native costa rican b/c they are not like this. We left after the one night and never got our $$ back for the other 2.
The magnificent view from the bed
The limited ability of the land lady
Friendly and helpful staff. The room was really nice with a view on the vegetation and the mountains. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was good and generous. The style of the interior was unique.
Maybe the access to the city: not very far by foot but not a pleasant walk on the side of the road, but it's quite common for some of the hotels in this area. Rooms are not completely sound-proof.
We enjoyed everything about our stay. There were monkeys in the trees by the kitchen. Breakfast was great, friendly staff who doted on our children, strong wifi, clean rooms, no bugs, great view. Highly recommended.
The hotel is right on the main road through town (but so are most of the other hotels too!) and the traffic is loud. If you require absolute silence to sleep, book a hotel that is not in town and stay somewhere out in the hills.
As a wheelchair user, The rooms are almost entirely accessible. This was great. The only minor obstacles were the ramp leading into the room which was a little bit steep yet easily manageable. There is one step leading into the reception and breakfast area which is also quite manageable. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. He arranged a private tour of his farm. Because it was really windy and cold when we were there, they arranged heaters for the room. Anything and everything we wanted was promptly supplied. A real home like atmosphere. I would highly recommend staying here
