The hotel facilities including the spa were excellent. The food was very good with plenty of choice including vegetarian dishes. Front-of-house staff were friendly but busy and were not as efficient as we expected in a four star hotel.
We were overcharged by £70. I had to point out that dinner was included - the allowance was £35 per person. The receptionist made the adjustment when it was pointed out. I had asked for flowers to be delivered to the rooom as it was our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We received an email response confirming that this would be done. This did not happen and although I pointed it out on arrival and was assured they would be sent up they were not.
The hotel grounds and place it’s was lovely
The room was next to the reception, side exit door and corridor to the bar and communal toilets, it was very noisy all night we hardly slept at all.
Breakfast was delicious. our room was comfortable.
we were in room 105 ground floor ground floor, we managed to open the pito door but couldn't lock it as a result l couldn't have any fresh air,l am used to having a window open all though the year what ever the weather is.
Amazing view of the gardens from our room. Food and staff were also excellent.
We stayed in room ‘May’. No fridge in room, despite my booking confirmation saying there would be. It was also very noisy in the room. As we were directly facing the door, I was woken up several times throughout the night with the door slamming shut and people (I presume staff) walking along the corridor gaining access to the cupboards outside our room. It was very hot in the room, we had the window wide open throughout the night, there was an air conditioning unit in the room, however no instructions on how or where to control the unit.
Very nice room and very nice public rooms. Staff were attentive. Restaurant food was nice but not outstanding.
Service at breakfast was very slow. Plenty of waiting staff about so I assume that they were short of kitchen staff. I was very underwhelmed when I tried to recharge my electric car at the hotel's charging point. I didn't have an access card for the Charging Network that installed the hotel's charge point. Naturally I expected the hotel to have an access card so that guests could use the charge point. They didn't so I had to go through a messy business of contacting the Charging Network myself, downloading an app to my phone, loading money onto the app then using the app to make the charge point work. Messy and quite unnecessary. Black mark for that.
