Pros: location was great, walking distance to everything. Didnt have the breakfast there.
Cons: The beds werent comfortable and neither were the pillows. The door was really squeaky and the rooms werent very sound proof so we could hear every step in the hall way. Only way to remedy would be to internally insulate walls. Rooms were warm and lounge area and kitchen and bathroom faciliites were awesome!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The dorm room was big enough. The private hot tub is definitely a plus.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfy room ,pleasant atmosphere and well managed

6.0 Good
Pros: clean room & free Wi Fi as compensation
Cons: We booked a detached pod/cabin pictured in 'recent' photo on website, on arrival found these had not yet been built, very disappointed, were given 2nd floor room instead, which was pleasant but NOT what we anticipated Very disappointed!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was comfortable. It was a good location as it was a quick drive to Whakapapa Village.
Cons: It was a small room and it was challenging to find space for our stuff along with the furniture in the room.
7.0 Good
Pros: Very friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast
Cons: The room was rather cramped and basic. Tiny bathroom area, lighting poor. Some of the cutlery had been left unwashed from the previous occupants.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Having stayed here on several previous occasions and was always impressed, but this time I was a little disappointed with room 16 which seemed to be in process of refurbishment. There was green masking tape in places plus we were not able to shut the bathroom door if we were having a shower due to a towel rail attached to the sliding bathroom door, meaning that it had to be open at least 6 inches
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very good - linen lovely. The room was small but very clean and tidy. Recently done up.
Cons: A closet for hanging clothes would have worked better. Some of the older rooms need a face lift.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our stay, the room was clean and cosy.
Cons: The bathroom was so tiny that the shower door didn’t close when the bathroom door was also closed.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Small, dark room.

Pros: Spotlessly clean shared shower rooms and facilities. The shared kitchen was useful and there was space to sit outside. We slept well. It was quiet and comfortable. We received a warm welcome from the lady at reception.
Cons: The transfer to and from the Tongariro Crossing was expensive but the driver was interesting and reliable. The place is quite basic and more like a hostel but we liked it.

Pros: Really warm atmosphere and all the facilities were great. Free hot tub and lovely owner
4.0 Okay
Cons: The room smelled of smoke. It was basic and we had to go to another building to cook. It would suit those used to hostels and lodges but wasn’t for me. I guess it's horses for courses.

Pros: Was really close to Tongario Crossing. Also the Shuttle was only 40$ for both ways to the tongario crossing. Everything was clean. Nice Lounge to relax and watch a movie...there are heaps. Even though we already checked out we were allowed to use kitchen and showers.
7.0 Good
Pros: Suited our quick one-night stay. Was well-positioned for our journey and easy to get to. Value for money.
Cons: The corridor (and our room) was noisy whenever the smoke doors opened and closed - the walls sort-of moved in and out! Also the drain from the shower needs cleaning (probably hair blocking it) but we couldn't find anyone to tell before leaving and were unable to unblock it ourselves.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good location for the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. Staff were friendly and helpful
Cons: The room was incrediby noisy 24/7. It sounded like a washing machine was running continuously leading to two really bad nights sleep.
7.1 Good

Cons: Bed in room 8 in the old wing was uncomfortable with the springs protruding. Needs to be replaced. No sound proofing in walls so could hear everyone in the hallway.
