Location to the French Quarter
Desk staff checking in was rude and there isn’t free breakfast
Location was fine.
House keeping banged doors all the time. Street noise was excessive and they were painting the interior walls etc. you could smell the fumes
The bank is nice, the hotel is not.
The discounted price was good; however, we quickly realized that after having the heater broken within the room it was absolutely not worth the discount price much less the full retailer price.
The breakfast was not warm, much less so continental, and the room provided had a broken heater.
Good location, great value.
The rooms were nice, nothy fancy, but nice. We were upgraded to a top level suite, a great surprise. Perfect location. Easy for Uber and taxis, but a few blocks out of the zoo of the French Quarter.
There is potential if they redo the bar and restaurant to a more lively spot.
Room was too small
Location, it was central
Room was small and outdated Facilities non existent Restaurant was meh
The architecture, design, choice of furnishings and keeping the existing bank for a backdrop is a nice touch. The room (610) was quite nice and comfortable. The staff were all very professional but Jo Ann in the bar was wonderful. The only improvement possible would be the in-hotel restaurant. To be quite frank, the quality was not so good and the portions small when compared to every other place we dined in and around the French Quarter of equal or lesser price. Your meal pricing (we first tried breakfast and then stopped-) was also at the top of the cost range we experienced in and outside the French Quarter. Had the quality and quantity been better we would have happily spent more time in your restaurant. In our opinion, correct this and you'll have the perfect hotel.
Disapointed
We just expected a little better than what we got.
Expected the sweet to be a little sweeter
The bed was extremely uncomfortable.
Clean and comfortable room that was a great value for the money.
Perfect
Very helpfull people, very clean, and perfect room
All is perfect
Would Stay Again
Location, Value, Staff. We walked to the Riverwalk Outlets, Dragos, Harrahs Casino, Aquarium. We got a cab ride to the French Quarter and Bourbon St. The hotel was very clean and the suite was very spacious with 2 TV's. I loved the rich history of the building. It was originally a bank and still has the vault, teller service windows, etc on the lobby.
VERY noisy. I could hear a lot of hallway noise. Also, it may have just been the night we stayed (Thursday) but at 4:30 AM the city came down Poydras to empty the dumpsters (very loud) and it woke the toddler (sigh). That can possibly be chalked up to wrong place, wrong time but just be aware if you're staying on a Thursday night. Parking was too expensive but to be fair that's ALL hotels in the area. The hotel was once a bank so there are very few (if any) extras...no roomservice, no spa, etc.
Hostorical
Love the architecture.
the rooms were spacious and nice. The way the bank is changed into hotel is nice and beautiful.
the tapwater is nog drinkeble and they should offer some bottles of water on the rooms for the price. The waitres in the breakfastroom was almost rude, took very long to get everything served, the eggs were already cold when the toast was served The king sized beds are queen size!,
The staff at the Whitney was very helpful and helped make our stay a very pleasant one. The hotel itself is fine. It is in a very old building (used to be a bank), so some features matched this: smaller rooms, etc. We were very pleased with the location too. The Whitney is located right on Poydras about 3 blocks over from the craziness of the French Quarter and about 4 blocks up from the River Walk or Convention Center. Easy to get everywhere quickly.
The rooms were smaller and not everything was clean & bright like you'd expect in a newer hotel. However, this was all just the nature of an older property. For the price you can't beat this place. Just know going in what to expect.
I like the location and the convenience to all attractions. The beds were extremely comfortable and relatively quiet.
The only complaint I had about the hotel was the toilet. It seemed to be broken towards the end of our trip and was making a clanking sound throughout the night. We told the front desk once when we checked out and she was nice and told us she would report it and if we would've come down earlier she would've switched our room. That was appreciated.
It was in walking distance to everything in the quarters, museums, casino etc... great location and very comfortable bed! Spacious room and bathroom.
It did not have a pool
Rooms are individual with character. Normal facilities built into this converted Bank, with 5 or 6 floors.
None
Sort of close to everything
the staff were unfriendly and won't makeup the rooms. The hotel is anbank that has been converted into a hotel, the room was ok though the workmanship was poor, toilet didn't work, keycard keeps breaking... it just wasn't up to par with what you will expect from a wyndham. Had to argue with staff about making up our room two out of three night stay
Location
Lack of parking/No pool
Rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable.
The Whitney Hotel is located in a building that was initially built as a bank all the way back in 1910. Now, the historic landmark houses 93 guest rooms and offers a refined, traditional hotel for guests to stay in. Much of the old bank's architecture and stylings were preserved during the hotel's renovation. Guests will still be able to see the bank's original vault at the hotel. Also, many of the brass moldings and other designs are still present in the hotel. Close to the French Quarter and other amazing attractions, guests are sure to enjoy a stay at this hotel.
Each of the stylish, classic rooms offers modern accommodations like cable TV and free WiFi. Coffeemakers are also offered in each room. Meanwhile, the rooms provide guests with gorgeous private bathrooms filled with marble interiors. Guests enjoying a stay in a suite will be provided with extra living space: the suites add a separate sitting room for guests to use. Suites also offer pullout sofas that offer guests extra sleeping accommodations if they need them.
The hotel houses an elegant bar and bistro restaurant. The restaurant contains original columns from the bank's architecture, and brightly painted murals cover the restaurant's walls from top to bottom. The restaurant serves classic, Creole cuisine to give every guest a bite of New Orleans. The bank's former vault now offers guests a private dining room to enjoy their meal in a unique area. A gym is also featured in the hotel for guests to use.
