Overview

Sofitel New York Hotel is a 30-story hotel based in Manhattan. This French-inspired locale is in proximity to popular places like Broadway and Times Square.

The hotel offers many services to make the lives of guests convenient and more relaxing. Some of these services include laundry, online check-ins, concierge, and valet parking. Travelers who own pets are more than welcome to bring their furry friends to this pet-friendly location. Those who want to keep in shape can utilize the on-site fitness center. Visitors here for business reasons will be happy to know that there are nine meeting rooms and a copy/print service.

The guest rooms measure between 350 to 1,200 square feet, and there are about 400 of them. Many of them come with amenities like Bose radios, two telephone lines, and Rollaway beds for children.

Visitors can eat to their heart's content at Gaby Restaurant. This on-site restaurant is known for its modern French cuisine. Additionally, it has a bar.

Those who want to enjoy some fresh air can walk to Bryant Park, a four-acre park with a fountain. Bryant Park happens to stand behind the public library's main branch, so visitors have easy access to reading material. This neighborhood has many brand-name retailers that are walking distance from the hotel such as Best Buy, Barnes and Noble, and Forever 21. There are several museums and theaters visitors can visit, too.

Gary, Oct 2022
Breakfast service is now available in the dining room. Staff is polite, competent and friendly; a hallmark of Sofitel service. The hotel is within easy access of JFK and after long-haul, international business trips, it provides a welcome respite in the city. Fast checkout is a top attraction for me, no need to join a line on departure and get a paper copy of your account. What could use some more...

Pros (+) It went to Sofitel and resides there permanently. To accommodate a late evening meeting, staff in the in-house restaurant, Gaby, expedited my dinner order. Across three continents and three cities--New York, Amsterdam and Marrakech--I have come to rely on and expect great service.
Cons (-) I haven't found it yet.

Paul, Sep 2017
Pros (+) The lobby is wonderful. The staff are tremendous. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, although one was a bit noisy. But we were moved without fuss and very efficiently. Coffee and tea making equipment is by request. Good restaurant and bar.
Cons (-) The noisy room.
