Great staff, very nice room
Shower door jambed
Good hotel, amazing mattresses, but a few minor flaws
Two of the four front desk staff with whom I interacted were incredibly helpful and friendly; the other two not so much (see negatives). Great beds, nice rooms. Ideal location.
I had lost my phone in a local taxi and the driver tried to return it to me a few hours later when it was discovered. The front desk staff on the night shift refused to call my room to let me know she had it. Subsequently, the entire next day I was making calls to try to locate it. I even asked Front desk if anything had been reported and turned in and they said NO. Several hours later, she called me and delivered to me in person, noting that she attempted the night before to get the phone to me with no luck and no cooperation. Unbelievable! Thanks to incompetent night time desk staff, I spent the entire day wondering where my phone was. They could have rang my room and told me she had the phone. I was very annoyed by this. Big negative in my view.
Better than expected
The room was bigger than we anticipated. It was really big. The location is great; very close to grand central station. It was quiet and better than staying in times square. There were several restaurants near by and 5th avenue was just a few blocks away. Hotel staff was very nice and helpful. We were pleased.
The fixtures in the bathroom were coming off the walls. Cleanliness was a tiny bit off. Looked like either blood or ketchup on the curtains (I am going with ketchup). Need to stay above 7th floor or you will hear the music from the lounge. Could have used a microwave/refrigerator.
Beautiful quiet room in the heart of mid-town
The bed was really comfortable and the room very quiet for New York. I think the shower was recently renovated and was terrific. The rain-style shower head was mounted high so that you didn't have to duck under it and there was also shower wand if you needed it. I also loved that the HD TV had HD cable so that we weren't constantly watching images that were squeezed or stretched. The staff was really friendly and helpful.
The only negative was that they're remodeling the bar and restaurant so there was no food or drink available other than room service and the continental breakfast. When that's finished it should be a big improvement.

Room size was bigger than avg. in NYC Mattress was comfortable Zero noise on 14F TV was great quality
Pillows were uncomfortable to rest on. Nothing else we found uncomfortable or bad to review. that's it. SP
Staff was amazing, room was fabulous. I usually stay at the Dream-Downtown and the rooms here are bigger (as is the bathroom). Overall a great value for my money.
No actual lobby or bar to hang out in..
14th floor room was VERY quiet. Great for NYC.
Issue with we form in first two categories. I was a business/solo traveler. The rating section was operating.
A hotel room without a dresser is not a hotel... i
Unbelievably, my tiny room did not have a dresser. When I inquired about this the indifferent desk manager told me that the smaller rooms sometimes did not come with one! Living in this room out of my bag for five nights was a joy. Upon check out, there were three different staff members at the desk, none of whom could comprehend that there was not a dresser. So they went to check it out --- and big surprise, no dresser. (Apparently they were concerned that I was blind.) No apology, no offer of discount, no reasonable explanation. Had it not been a completely packed week in New York, I would have fled the first night. Oh, the shades didn't work properly either. Never again.
Room size comfort cleanliness and contemporary
A little further from Times Square than I expected and the staff was unfriendly
The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in! The room was very large for NYC and the shower head (rain shower) in the bathroom was amazing!! I also liked that there was a long hallway separating the door, bathroom, closet and vanity from the bedroom. Great location - close to Grand Central. There was a wonderful breakfast place a couple of blocks away (Zucker's) that we visited a couple of times - excellent quality and price.
I was only able to reserve a King size bed online and would have liked 2 double beds. The hotel was going to accomodate us with 2 beds, but wanted $50 more a night. They did upgrade us to a larger studio that had 2 comfortable chairs and a table, which was great!
Very big rooms. Comfortable beds.
Rude and arrogant staff. Very expensive for the value.
Location was very good for easy walking to main areas of Manhattan.
Steam heating radiators were on high and could not be turned off. Hotel's solution was to turn on noisy air conditioner and open window; not very conducive to a good night's sleep and not what one would expect from a hotel rated as high as this one was.
Boutique style hotel.Comforatble and relaxed feeling.Friendly and helpful staff
No proper lights in the room. Not enough to read in bed by.Ex W. Explains it all!
the hospitality of the employees
the room is too dark, could have more lights
The service provided by staff was exceptional. Especially Shane P went out of his way to make our stay a great experience!
Rates for different nights are confusing. Keep your rates a lilltle more consistent.
The staff was great - the room was large compared to most rooms I've used at NY hotels. I was very happy there.
Don't open the water valves too open or you may be surprised at the rust that comes out of the pipes - I was told some work had been done on the pipes but in reality, NY pipes are old and those things happen.
