Reception staff & room excellent
Breakfast very poor
The room was comfortable, decent bedding. Good shower.
The breakfast was chaotic. Too many customers and not enough staff in the kitchen. Long queues for food whilst waiting for either eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes to arrive. This occurred in fits and starts. Some people gave up. Once it was on the plate it was okay but could have been warmer. Very disappointing.
Accommodated request for late checkout.
Bar constantly left unattended - stood waiting for approx. 10 minutes waiting for service before being told I could not charge to my room as they had not swiped credit card on arrival. Had to walk back to room for card. Poor bar food. Bathroom was not clean, long hairs of previous occupant stuck to side of bath. Guests on floor above extremely drunk (and maybe on something else?) stamping, shouting, arguing until 02:30 - no one contactable to address situation.
Great meal served in the restaurant in the evening, staff very helpful
The white curtains (nets) hanging in the bedroom were frayed and worn and had dirty marks on them. The chair had brown stains on it by the dressing table. The bedroom smelt and there was black mould on the bathroom ceiling and sides of the bath. I asked for a quiet room but the rooms alongside had very noisy guests, who were speaking loudly, banging doors throughout the night. Once I alerted the night porter he spoke to them but it went on until after 3am.
Everything great budget stay, breakfast excellent
