We had booked one double and a twin room they were not able to provide the twin room. When I asked the staff member about this he phoned his boss and then told me if we didn’t like it then we could always leave!! We had only just arrived 10 mins before. I also asked about the pool not being open as we had been looking forward to using it. I was told that it’s only open in the summer but if we wanted to use the cold dirty pool we could go right ahead!! We were told we had been given the worst room, even though we had paid a supplement for a garden view, as we has been silly enough to book with booking.com, he went on and on about how much they needed to pay booking.com..... We found inside and outside, in the so called garden to be grubby not at all clean. We had in fact stayed here a few years ago and had had a lovely stay. To say the place has gone down hill is some what if an understatement. Sadly we found it to be very unprofessionally run and and did not at all meet our expectations. We would defiantly not recommend it and will defiantly not be back.
Breakfast was first class, and beautifully presented
Room was very clean, but small and dated. We knew it was an old property but we expected furnishings and decor to be updated. Toilet whilst very clean was just a cupboard, and a disgrace for a Superior room. There were also loose tiles on the stair, a safety hazard An old property and as such no lift.. The garden was close to jungle with foliage, the small plunge pool fine, but the surroundings with vegetation all around a haven for mousquitos, and we were badly bitten. The Dinner was beautifully set but no choice of menu.
Very friendly welcome from a bright young receptionist who became our waiter at dinner- she was knowledgeable of the menu & translated everything well. Great little pool in which to cool off after a very long hot drive. Very tranquil setting & quiet despite being close to the centre of town. Excellent goats cheese mousse with an intense citrus dressing as the starter on the set menu was the star.
Our request for a garden view was indeed that, but you needed to kneel to see it from the small porthole type window.
We stayed for a couple of nights in order to cycle Mont Ventoux. It's our third stay in Nyons and our second at this hotel. Having a pool and spa after a long day in the saddle was a godsend. The gardens are lovely and the rooms are tastefully decorated. The breakfast struggled to satisfy our voracious appetites but was of excellent quality. The staff were friendly and helpful. A short walk into Centre Ville were there are some great bars and restaurants.
We stayed for 1 night in this quirky boutique hotel. There was a lovely pool and surrounding gardens. Very close to Nyons main centre and close to shops; bars and restaurants. I will be coming back!
