Pros: Really close to the bus station. Quiet place with hummingbirds, the occasional marmoset, ducks, hens & kittens. Views into town were lovely, especially from the breakfast table. Breakfast was good & staff really friendly. Being able to use kitchen facilities was a bonus.
Cons: It’s a bit of a walk into town but this was perfect for us as we enjoyed the tranquility of the place.

Cons: Toilet was continuous running water. After my complaint it was repaired, but not correct. I demanded a room change, which was organized. I was offered a complimentary drink, that was put on my accoount. Everything fine, except this horrible experience.

Cons: The room windows and mirrors were not clean. The bathroom had only a bath and it would wet the whole toilet if you used it. The bath had a jacuzzi however the on/off button was just beside it in a non-wather proof case and it seemed to be connected to the mains that was just in the wall at ground level beside the bath. So stupidly dangerous. If you turn the jacuzzi on the whole toilet becomes a swimming pool. The indoor swimming pool ceiling was condensing the water and dripping everywhere where you would put a chair. The indoor swimming pool area didn't look too welcoming ( walls and ceiling ), also the carpet of the elevator that gives access to the rooftop was filthy. The windows are not soundproof, so if you ever consider staying there, account for the noise level. Overall they have work to do there to get 5 stars. I like it but don't recommend it.

Pros: Great location for someone who has a good driving skills! I mean you will have to drive up hill and down hill very steep and narrow pathways. Only a few mints from downtown. The owner is an excellent guy! Very kind and helpful. We loved staying there. I would come and stay at this property again and I would also recommend this hotel for anyone who knows how to navigate their way in such unclear directions. parking is very small ask the hotel owner where to park. Breakfast was flavourful and good coffee and nice fruits. Very satisfying.

Cons: Breakfast was very simple, room was hot with no air conditioning, bathroom was tiny and was not easy to adjust the hot water. Hostel main entrance is closed late in the evening so when we arrived later, we had to ring the bell and wait the receptionist to open the door for us. Parking in the late evening may change because parking lot gate may be closed.

Pros: Not many options with parking in the town, this hostel has one. The building is awesome. The room was big and clean, some beds had outlets. There are lockers. Actually i shared 10 dorm only with two other guys, and that was on a long holiday when everything else was booked, i guess the price scares people.
Cons: The price of 60 reais for 10 dorm is ridiculous. Wi Fi from weak to non-existent. The main issue is a loud noise from a busy street.

Pros: Well attended hostel in a gorgeous old building (fomerly the first school in Ouro Preto). Great view on the city. Contrary to what was said by other reviewers, we found breakfast to be simple but good, with sweet and salty options.

Located 2 km from Praça Tiradentes Square, right in the entrance of the city, Pousada Geraes is set on Baroque-style building and features free WiFi. With a rustic décor, all rooms feature a 32-inch Smart TV with Netflix and Youtube, a stocked minibar, hairdryer, fan and towels. This guesthouse is 300 metres from Guias de Turismo tourism association, and 2 km from Nossa Senhora da Conceição church. Ouro Preto bus station is 1 km away, and private parking is free upon a previous reservation.

Pros: The Pousada is clean, comfortable, and most importantly is run by a very generous, helpful owner. Not only did he help us maneuver our car in and out of the garage, but when we forgot our tablet in one of the churches ,he called for us, then went to the church and retrieved it for us -even though by then we had left town. The pousada is about a mile from the center, which is a plus because we came to see parts of this beautiful town which we would have not encountered otherwise.

The pousada is a walk away from Tiradentes but it is a very nice walk full of non touristics places that we'll make your stay even more rich and interesting. Maybe the room was then not the one we booked but a welcome touch of friendliness considering the circumstances. They also offered us to park in the garage instead of the street.
Cons: Not like is not the correct description but when you book Pousada Geraes, realise that you are at the edge of the historical city and not in the center. Nothing is far to walk, but steeeeeeep streets and the good old cobblestones everywhere.

Pros: Very spacious room and bathroom. Great, varied breakfast. Bathroom was awesome: huge with a great jacuzzi. Great location, very close to some of the city's main attractions. Included private parking with access through hotel, very important in Ouro Preto. Nice common areas. Attentive and helpful staff. Included afternoon tea.
Cons: Although the room was very big, it was sparsely decorated. There could be a sofa or more cabinets. The view from our room was not great: it faced the back of the hotel and its garage.

Pros: The hotel has loads of character. The mid-century modern furniture in the lobby is fabulous! The bedroom was well designed and comfortable. Everything was spotlessly clean. Fantastic location in the centre of the town. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Great breakfast and Nespresso coffee machine was a nice bonus (excellent coffee!) We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend this hotel.
Cons: The curtains and carpets could do with replacing, as they look very old and dated.

Pros: It is always a chance to stay in a building designed by a great architect. This is one of the early Niemeyer’s designs and it is perfectly integrated in the old colonial architecture of Ouro Preto. Stay only in the duplex suites with beautiful wooden staircases and comfortable verandas!
