The location is amazing! Within steps you are looking at (poor old) Notre Dame. Lots of bars, restaurants, bustle. If you are a walker you can get to almost every obvious attraction from here. Close to a metro. Nicely decorated, great fun. Lift. Our room looked out the front across an alley, but the windows and AC pretty effective against noise. Smallish, but it's Central Paris so obviously will be. We didn't book breakfast at hotel as so easy to get and fun to be out, so can't comment on that.
It's stupid to complain, but it's in a tiny back street. Part of the charm. But pretty vile when you are driving. My hero husband dropped us off with bags then managed to find (ruinously expensive) street parking ten minutes away. There are underground car parks, also v pricy and only negotiable in a teeny tiny car. If you on foot you're ok, if driving hmmmm, we were lucky.
This hotel has the charm of uniquely boutique hotels - historic building, unique accommodations, and a story. What makes hotels like these a gem is usually the staff and small touches to make up for what would be downsides (such as small accommodations due to historic architecture, etc). What I can say about this property is that it had a great location (right in the Latin Quarter and next to St. Michel metro station). Breakfast was ok, with plenty of selection.
Ok - there are a few things that impacted a positive score for me. First, I was in a solo room on the 5th floor (51) which had separate toilet
Nice hotel in the veery nice area! Everything is very close.) This is my 4th or 5th stay there, I always choose it if available.)
Last year there was water & chocolate candies as "welcome" in rooms.) I was missing them this time)))
The hotel is very small and cozy and it’s located a block away from the subway, so it’s perfect for your arrival from the CDG airport. You’ll be very close to the rue of St. Severin which has plenty of places to eat and drink. Also, if you are a book lover you’ll find a LOT of bookshops nearby, look for the San Francisco Book Co. for some secondhand english books! As for the hotel, the installations are very comfortable.
The breakfast isn’t really worth the price. It’s better to have it elsewhere since at the hotel you’ll only get coffee and some pastries. Not to mention that the room where you eat breakfast is freezing.
Location good. Close to RER line.
Not really clean. Permanently stained toilet, blocked sink and in need of a new coat of paint. Some items damaged (eg toilet brush holder) in need of replacement.
