Good location
Staff were great, convenient location downtown, good breakfast, comfortable bed/room, quiet
Old building, not the cleanest, ac went out which was quickly fixed but seemed like a regular problem they were having
Great stay
The person at the front desk was amazing. While checking me in, he was nice, kind, thoughtful and very very helpful. I was only there for one night to take my exam the next day but he made sure my night was comfortable! He answered all my questions and helped in any way possible. He had a list of restaurants ready to go, I just named the cuisine and he handed me names of all nearby good restaurants. When I asked about parking, he told me about all the options (cheap and safe) nearby. I didn't have to worry about anything other than my exam! Thank you!
Downtown but minimal
Located downtown and easy to get to everything.
Small, old, noisy, drafty. Cost high for basically an indoor motel. Breakfast was not good.
Good deal for downtown Philadelphia stay.
Hotel staff was friendly and efficient and the room was clean and exactly what we needed. It looks like an older hotel from the outside, but inside it is well cared for and looks like it may have been renovated recently. We stayed in a one bedroom, which had updated furniture and the bed was very comfortable. The room also had water and a coffee maker inside which was a pleasant surprise as I had expected a barebones room. We had a room at the end of the hall and didn't hear anyone in any other rooms. We walked from the hotel to Independence Hall, the Art Museum, Eastern State Penn, and Walnut Street, and found it a slightly long but comfortable distance to each, so it was a good central location. Also, we did not park with the hotel, but at a nice parking garage in Chinatown, which is just down the street from the hotel. With a voucher from the hotel, parking was very reasonable for downtown Philadelphia. All together the hotel was a good value for the price, especially since I booked the room only a short time before our trip.
The bathroom could use a little work, it was clean but the ceiling was flaking and had stains, and the floor and shower just looked a lot older than the rest of the room. Also, the shower's hot and cold water was reversed, but we figured it out quick and didn't have a problem with it. My only other concern isn't with the hotel itself, but with the location of a homeless shelter on the same block. Not realizing this we left our car parked on the street across from the hotel and happened to come back to it at the same time they were serving lunch. We came back to our car surrounded by about every homeless person in Philidelphia. I just would have parked elsewhere if I had realized this, so FYI for future patrons.
Find something else.
Days Inn Philadelphia
Room was clean and staff was friendly.
Although located near China town, which my son enjoyed, there were homeless people hanging out close to the hotel.
Really terrible hotel but it got the job done
Convenient location, the staff was helpful and accommodated our requests. Nothing inherently wrong with the room, typical budget hotel. WiFi worked fine. If you just need a place to crash for the night and don't want to spend any time in the hotel, this is fine.
The number one most bizarre and bad thing about this hotel was that there were no windows to the outside in your room. Dark and cell-like. Not that you would have wanted to, because the direct surroundings were pretty bleak. There was, however, a useless and creepy window directly into the hall which was covered only with curtains. Why would you leave this feature in a hotel room? It made us really uncomfortable. This was enhanced by the fact that the area outside of the hotel was really swarming with homeless people. It's not their fault of course, but they were coming and sitting in the lobby, and the entrance into the hotel room hallways was not locked. This made us feel rather unsafe. Lastly, the walls were paper thin. Nothing they can do about that. Way way way overpriced for a really terrible hotel, only good for a place to crash in a convenient location that isn't a hostel or something.
Staff was awesome!!
Room was loud, but to be expected
The cleaning staff were very good
The women at the front desk was not very friendly. I asked her for a 9 AM wake call which she didn't do
My room had a broken shower, no hot water, broken toiket, and something wrong with the electric. Terrible. Shouldn't have been charged for my stay since I had to use other rooms to shower and use the bathroom.
Eh
Location
Was handed room keys but room wasn't cleaned. Found a com don wrapper after it was cleaned. The AC stopped working for a few hours
Job Done Well
The hotel was the cheapest I could find in center city, and I'm glad I chose it. I was just in Philadelphia for an audition, so I didn't need anything fancy. The room was small, but immaculate, every employee I came across (and I mean every) was kind and the front desk was very helpful numerous times. Easy proximity to Broad Street and SEPTA. Overall, I'd gladly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a no fuss hotel for a quick trip. (Also I'd like to note the elevator was fine, the maids were very thorough, and there were no loitering homeless people).
My grievances are generally small, but they added up enough to knock off a star. No fruit at breakfast and no outside windows were a bother, but not a tragedy.
