the location
Dilapidated and very old it felt more like a poor 3 star. The roof below our balcony had numerous old dirty towels and lots of rubbish and cigarette ends below. The pool bar was closed, all the pool side furniture was cheap sun bleached and broken, the sun loungers were either damaged or dirty, and we have photos of this. The pool overfull inlets contained algae and bacterial spores. Our room had cracked tiles in the bathroom, a dirty hairdryer and no complimentary toiletries. There was only 1 plug socket to plug anything into which was behind the TV The towels were tiny. The Breakfast was mediocre and the hot food not so hot. Would not recommend this to anyone. We walked into other 4 star hotels next to this hotel and the facilities were far superior.

Location was good
The hotel is very dated and requires bringing up to the standard at which it is advertised. The bedroom was dated and the facilities supplied wee not of a 4 star standard. Maybe a 2.

The hotel is very well situated on the sea front and there is secure parking at the rear at a reasonable cost. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and I enjoyed the buffet breakfast and evening meals.
The building is a traditional seaside hotel and no doubt there are plans for external redecoration at some point in the near future. Inside is smarter and clean. I would definitely book there again, especially off season. I liked the fact that the air conditioning was reliable and cut out automatically when the patio door was open. My balcony overlooked the beach and was of a good size.
