9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location. Walk to beach, town, free parking, howlers and igrauanas in the AM. On site services, such as spa, pool, restaurant. Absolutely perfect!
Cons: Not much
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful and went out of the way to make sure our stay was perfect. The grounds were gorgeous - the property is situation within a perfectly manicured tropical garden, and the pool and beach are picturesque. Bungalows were spacious and beautiful. Food was excellent.
Cons: The bed and pillows were quite hard. Everything else was so lovely, it was a bit disappointing to end the day uncomfortably. They did not have mattress toppers to make it softer. I would recommend investing in some for guests at request.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, great food and helpful concierge to plan activities
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort is beautiful and its location was amazing. I loved the fact that I could walk from the pool right to the beach. The sunsets were out of this world. The food was delicious. The staff was very friendly. Gustavo and Maricela were incredible . Always willing to go the extra mile. It was also nice to be surrounded by nature. I LOVED THIS PLACE!!!!!
Cons: There was nothing that I disliked about the resort.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beds were comfy, staff was so kind and amazing, even the other guests were super friendly! Loved everything about it! My kids absolutely adored our waiter, Senor Max, who was so sweet and kind and cheerful. I could see why they have so many repeat guests- we can’t wait to return!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Natural setting throughout
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The beachfront rooms had a beautiful view and wonderful relaxing chairs on the patio. We watched and listened to the waves, birds and howler monkeys. We had our own outdoor shower! Breakfast buffet was fresh and plentiful. Loved everything about this place.
Cons: I will miss this place. It was delightful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Capitan Suizo was a little piece of paradise, honestly was magical. Staff were beyond accommodating and so friendly. Property, pool and room were very clean and well kept. Felt like a home away from home. A very rustic authentic Costa Rican experience, while still luxurious and location at the end of Tamarindo beach made it very private and quiet. Was a very special place, that we look forward to going back to again.
Cons: There was nothing that didn't meet our expectations - it was our first time in Costa Rica and we couldn't have asked for a better experience so absolutely no complaints!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff is super accommodating and friendly. They aim to please and are very responsive ... Impressed by them all.
Cons: Food was generally good especially nachos poolside. Nice buffet breakfast. Dinner salad and a few appetizers for dinner were just ok.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room eas spacious and close to the pool. There was a good breakfast selection and the staff were friendly and attentive. The concierge was very helpful with dinner reservations and making arrangements for activities.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice little BnB. Beautiful pool, very friendly host family and great & healthy breakfast.
Cons: I hope the payment (we have to pay the deposit through paypal) could be more clear up front.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I had a lovely stay at Les Voiles Blaches. The property and garden are beautiful and the hosts Karyn and Michael went above and beyond to make my stay extra special from arranging tours to making me a vegan and gluten free breakfast. Highly recommended!
Cons: There really isn’t anything to dislike! I would recommend that you rent a car if you plan on venturing out. Otherwise Karyn and Michael have a taxi service that can take you into Tamarindo for $15.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are modern furnished and have air-con. Bed is very comfortable. Nice and we'll kept property, the pool is refreshing and clean, shaded hammocks allow for relaxing. The breakfast is freshly prepared and was one of the best we had during our stay in Costa Rica! Karene and Michael are very nice people and run their business with a lot of passion. They are easy to reach via whatsapp or mail in case of questions.
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay at Les Voiles Blanches B&B! The entire space is quiet, relaxing, and safe. The pool was clean/the perfect temperature and the hammocks strewn around the space were perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful space. The room had everything we needed (great a/c and internet), comfortable king sized bed, and beautiful bathroom. The location was perfect, far enough away from trashy Tamarindo to be quiet/safe, but close enough to go to dinner and explore a wide array of beaches! Besides the amenities the hosts were fantastic! They were easy to communicate with, flexible, gave us wonderful recommendations (even set up sunset horseback riding for us) and provided a delicious breakfast! 10/10 would definitely book again and recommend staying here!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was absolutely incredible . The rooms and the grounds were impeccable. Karene and Michael were amazing and helped us book 2 activities The hotel is a little far from the town of Tamarindo but it was very easy to get to. With that being said, we did feel like we were in our own little 4 room oasis.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool and garden, lovely setting , small scale hotel (4 rooms) , very friendly and helpful people, privacy , clean and well maintained place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well located, near to all the best beaches in Guanacaste. The pool is amazing and very quiet. The hosts are very kind. The room was confortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic experience, luxury and romantic vibes in this family own little bed and breakfast. The open roof shower is a must try! Lovely experience and people!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is absolutely stunning, the rooms are cozy, and the food is delicious! The hosts are extremely friendly, welcoming, and just fantastic people. This B&B is a little piece of heaven - it is truly a hidden gem and a must stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It’s amazing what they’ve done with a dry piece of land, it’s all very tastefully decorated and you can relax in a hammock or in the pool We could make coffee and use some basic cutlery and wine glasses from the kitchen The semi-outdoor shower was a really unique and nice touch
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner were charming and very helpful. We consider ourselves lucky to have found it. We intend to be back soon. Thanks for a great weekend
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing little property a short drive from Tamarindo. Quiet and peaceful location with great access to a number of beaches provided you have a car. Karene and Michael were wonderful hosts! Soo welcoming and attentive. They had great knowledge of the area and made fantastic suggestions on beaches to visit, restaurants to dine in and the best spots for sunset. Breakfast was brilliant, although more of a set breakfast rather than a menu. I would definitely stay here again !
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything! Great location and view, great food both for breakfast and dinner, excellent and attentive staff.
4.6 Okay
Pros: The staff at the restaurant were amazing. They were always so nice to us.
Cons: When we complained to the front desk staff bout the deep tissue massage that wasn't "deep tissue" they were very rude to us, and they continued to be rude to us for the rest of our stay. And the hot tub in our room smelled. I don't know how often they cleaned it. It wasn't worth paying extra for.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very well located. It is very cozy perfect for couples.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! It was so amazing. The food was amazing, the staff was so polite, the place is so gorgeous and clean and quiet. Definitely one of the best places I ever been to. Geeez, and amazing views of gorgeous Costa Rica.
Cons: The only thing was the Raccoons on the roof making noise at night when u trying to sleep but it wasn’t too bad. I would definitely love to go back!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous views as you enter the hotel, very friendly staff and enjoyed the food.. in particular the breakfast mimosas. Hotel staff upgraded our room on arrival which was nice and meant we had sun loungers on the terrace to relax on rather than needing to be by the pool. I went to the morning yoga once which was an excellent addition.
Cons: We felt the prices were a little expensive, particularly for things like bottles of water at dinner! ($8.50 for san pelligrino?!) and it would have been better if the gym facilities were in the Jardin del Eden rather than the Diria sister hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! One of the best hotels I have ever stayed, and l travel a lot! Beautiful design, great attention to details, superb amenities and friendly staff.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful gardens. Quiet Pool. Resident iguanas. Lovely private area on the beach only a short walk down the path.
Cons: Bathroom Towels were definitely on the small size but at least separate pool/beach towels available.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great boutique hotel with lovely and nice staff. Dinner was included (3 courses) and every night we had something different and very tasty. Location is great, with a nice access to the beach private garden.
Cons: I missed a fitness center. As a boutique hotel, at least a cardio room, should be part of their services. Breakfast could be a bit better and with more options like meat or a hot section as part of the buffet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was phenomenal. The facilities were always clean. The beach front private space was amazing. The adults only was a great touch!
Cons: The pillows were awful.

Pros: My wife and i went to Costa Rica on our honeymoon, and we spent our final five days at the Tamarindo Bay Boutique Hotel. We absolutely loved it, hated to leave and can’t wait to come back again. Everything from the location, to the ambiance and decor, and especially the staff, was top notch. We can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Tamarindo.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything about this hotel. Small, quiet, convenient, clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff, clean and warm pool, close to town, excellent food, comfortable large rooms, inexpensive, wow!
Cons: There really wasn't anything at all to complain about.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Marie was the best! Answered all of our questions and handled all of our requests, to include booking dinner and tour reservations. Tamarindo Bay Boutique is a quiet peaceful gem in a bustling neighborhood. We loved the house pups - Lily, Jemima, and Turby!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Its superclean, the welcoming is very nice, the room is spacious, no outside noise. The pool is amazing, breakfast supergood, all more than fine
Cons: Its expensive, but definitely worth the value
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quite, clean, great breakfast very friendly staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great and Marie was lovely! We could tell that the property was well looked after and maintained. The service we received was excellent. We were able to rent our a portable cool box and boogie boards free of charge to take down to the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Cons: We were super happy with everything. Tiny downside was that the hotel next door has an outdoor restaurant and was a little noisy, but not past 10pm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms with all amenities in a great location with attentive management. Wonderful pool on site and a good breakfast service each morning. Beautiful modern bathrooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole hotel was gorgeous. Our room opened out onto the pool and the furnishings (in the room and common areas) were so pretty. Beds were super comfy and the shower was great. Everybody at the hotel was very friendly and helpful too, even organising our transport back to San Jose for us. We loved our stay here, wish we were staying longer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: - the stuff (Marie and her crew were amazing!) - the location (5min walk from the main street). - the overall cleanliness. - the facilities. - the room. - the attention to details
Cons: Nothing. It was really great!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, classy, close to downtown Tamarindo and beach but felt more quiet and secluded than the busy town. Loved the location! We spent a lot of time at the hotel as it was very peaceful and beautiful.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small calm oasis right in the heart of Tamarindo. Great small pool in the center of the little complex and great communal seating area. Fab breakfast! My favorite thing about this property was that they are super environmentally conscious
Cons: Nothing to dislike
5.4 Okay
Pros: The decoration and the employee (man)
Cons: The location was not bad, but I do not recommend it, there are many hotels next to the beach and not much more expensive than this one. The service that gave us, the owner, or at least the manager left a lot to be desired, we had a plane and we asked her if it was possible to advance the breakfast 15 minutes, to which she said no. It is a very expensive place for the service they have, for me that kind of service is for places more crappy.

Pros: Kindness. Everyone was extremely pleasant, greetings, asking us how we were. The food was superb for lunch, dinner and snacks. Free shuttle bus was excellent. Loved the outside shower and the spa.
Cons: The travel to and from the airport or places outside of Tamarindo was pricey. We flew into San Jose and had no idea how far Tamarindo was.

Pros: Clean, small boutique hotel with great service. Location is wonderful, easily accessible to restaurant, shops and beach.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were upgraded to a fabulous suite , so contemporary, clean and secluded. Pool area was so tastefully presented with the tropical shrubs surrounding ,encouraging indigenous wildlife. Best breakfast of the four hotels we staying at in Costa Rica
Cons: We didn’t eat dinner here as wanted the evening atmosphere of Tamarindo, I didn’t think the lunch menu gave much variety ... but i grasping to find fault !!

Pros: Nothing, but the location was not the ideal
Cons: The hotel was perfect in every way

Pros: Everything from the staff to the services and the locations. Their attention to details was amazing

Pros: Beautiful!
Cons: The only thing was the housekeeping was less than thorough
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. The room was incredible. Air conditioning worked great. Staff was amazing. Breakfast was nice and free sunset cocktails on beach was a nice touch. $5 taxi into town or you can rent golf cart or take bikes. Out of the action of the city for privacy but close enough to go in if you want.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff and a genuine boutique feel at the hotel sets it apart as one of the finest places I have ever stayed. The staff are attentive but never too much so. They have the balance just right. What’s more, the food is the best In Tamarindo and beats any restaurant in the town itself for both value and quality. In fact, Cala Luna’s restaurant was one of the best in which I have ever eaten anywhere in the world.

Nestled on the beach, this Tamarindo property is 0.6 mi (1 km) from Tamarindo Beach and 1.8 mi (2.9 km) from Grande Beach. Tamarindo Church and Canopy Vista Tamarindo are also within 6 mi (10 km).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: loved everything
Cons: unfortunately someone stole $ 400 AMERICAN dollars from our safe and very little was done about it they just follow procedures to call the tourist police but nothing was offer to make our stay less uncomfortable or make any discount for our lost, they just replace the safe in the room but I never trusted that safe anymore . the stuff was very polite and friendly especially and the from desk .
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The pool is amazing, beachfront, good snacks as well.
Cons: Reception was not flexible and caused me trouble; main lunch should be improved
7.1 Good
Pros: Variety was good. Fresh fruits everyday. Great coffee. Fresh omelettes at breakfast. Lunch and dinner always had fresh salad ingredients and fruit. Each day a different item was grilled for you if you liked.
Cons: Staff not very friendly
7.9 Good
Pros: The staff were fantastic. Kenny on reception was fantastic help and a great source of information about Tamarindo. Carlos was great fun to talk to around the pool and other staff such as Alberto, Bryon, Claudio and the buffet staff were very good. For an all inclusive resort the food and drink were above average and the specialty restaurant was wonderful. Our room was away from the noisy area of the resort and looked out over the jungle. The live music was very good. The gardens are beautiful and very well maintained. Most of the sun beds are under thatched umbrellas. There is plenty of wildlife to watch out for each day. We were there for mother's day dinner on 15 August and it was excellent food with a mariachi band.
Cons: This is not a 5 star resort (4 star at a pinch). How can a hotel be 5 star when there is no free WiFi and even when you buy it (at expensive rates) it is slow and only available in certain places. The room cleaning is poor at best. The sheets were too small for the beds (couldn't tuck them in at the bottom) and the mattresses were badly stained and in need of replacement. The pillows stunk of sweat and the mattress covers were falling apart. I don't think that we had a day that the towels were not all delivered and one day we had to call housekeeping 3 times to get any towels by 7:30 pm. Toiletries either were not replaced regularly of the dispensers didn't work. The housekeepers mopped the room floor each day with a very smelly mop. They need to change their mop water after each room and use anti-bacteria products in their mop water. It STINKS. The pool on a couple of busy days was so dirty with human hair, spit and snot that we couldn't go in the water. It was disgusting on about 3 of 15 days. Babies were allowed in the pool without waterproof nappies (or any nappies at all). The rooms need better soundproofing from loud neigbours next door or on the common balconies. There was an iron in the room but no ironing board. The hotel doesn't have a shuttle in to the village.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was concerned about other reviews mentioning long lines for food and drink, but we did not have any problems.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, only steps away to a beautiful beach.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Facilities were beautiful, pool, pool bar etc- all fabulous. Staff were helpful. Wildlife round the hotel was amazing iguana, pelicans, monkeys, raccoons and even a skunk!! all just wandering round and lots and lots of crabs!!
Cons: Only small things really; The wifi could have been better in the rooms. Not ideal when you have teenagers. The bedding smelt terrible. I think it must be stored damp. Sheets and pillow cases felt clean but smelt really strongly. There could have been a veggie option on the buffet in the evening. Lots of salads and vegetables but a main 'dish' would have been nice.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very well distributed, clean and tidy.
Cons: Too far from my house
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was big, huge bed, everything was clean and convenient. Staff was amazing, I actually liked the fact that most of them don’t even speak english, i really felt the culture and experienced all part of it. The beach in front of the hotel is amazing and you can see a lot of animals. Plus, if you go to town, which is really close, you will meet amazing people, there is great restaurants and a lot of places to do activities. It s a really safe area.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was great, prefect location, chilled, comfortable, clean, great staff, and value for money during our stay was outstanding. Wish I'd stayed longer. Just perfect.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast was great. Rooms were clean, location excellent.
Cons: The lady working the front had a can't-be-bothered attitude that was off-putting. I ended up paying more than $150/night and probably could have stayed closer to the beach for that price.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Arco Iris is well planned and very well kept. Really, the room was simple but immaculately cleaned daily, and the walk-in shower is just what I needed after all day at the beach. My bungalow (#6) had blackout curtains that let me sleep in as late as needed. Breakfast was the typical Costa Rica fare (rice, eggs, papaya, pineapple, coffee etc) and solo traveling I had a chance to chat with the owner Richard and other folks beside the pool. The beach is just down the road, and while you could find a place closer, for me this one checked all the boxes of convenience, comfort, cleanliness, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds of the hotel were beautiful gardens. The staff was friendly and the restaurant was delicious.
Cons: Nada! Everything was great.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved my bungalow. Especially the bathroom. Staff and Richard very helpful. Would stay again
Cons: Found it hard to dislike anything.

Pros: Rooms were clean. Private nice for couples
Cons: Far from beach. Need to work on the very simple breakfast menu

Pros: Richard and staff were extremely helpful & friendly. Their breakfast is also delicious.
Cons: I would recommend posting safe directions in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything at this hotel!!!! Best staff, great friendly owner. Wonderful breakfast. Our room was cleaned everyday to perfection. You can’t beat the location easy 2 min walk to every thing. I highly recommend this place. They booked our activity for us and gave us the best recommendations. They take such good care of you like you are their family!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Arco Iris had a great feel to it. The pool is very nice. Richard is a super cool guy and is extremely friendly. We had to leave at 4:00 am to catch our flight and Richard gave us some fruit, muffins, and juice. He offered that up without us even asking. We were very happy with the location. You are just far enough from the noise of the main street, but still able to walk to everything. The beach is maybe a 5 minute walk. There is a walking path from the hotel to a road with tons of great restaurants. If you feel like staying in for a nice meal, they lease their dining space to one of the best restaurants in Tamarindo, Seasons by Shlomy. We traveled to 4 different cities in Costa Rica and this hotel was our favorite by far.
Cons: The air conditioner in our room was kind of weak. It worked a little better at night. We weren't around much during the day so it didn't bother us much.

Pros: Friendliness, delicious breakfasts, a/c in room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at Indra Inn. We stayed for 8 days. It is a very peaceful place. Beautifully landscaped. Very, very clean and well organized. The hosts Mathew and Nathalie were absolutely lovely, welcoming and very helpful. Beds were comfortable, bathrooms nicely designed. The small porch and hammock made it very pleasant to rest out of the sun. Hot water, good air conditioning. Lovely super clean communal kitchen and gathering space. A close line! (Little things mean a lot), Also laundry service is available. Bikes to rent $10 per day. Lending library. It was very safe. Playa Grande is a fantastic beach. Waves are great. Huge beach, so few people its hard to believe. You can walk a long way towards Tamarindo or in the other direction to a beach that we frequently saw with no one in sight. Interesting info about the turtles. We met some of the biologists working at the park and they showed us where they have rescued eggs. Nathalie told us about them. Enough restaurants to choose from. I would recommend Indra Inn for a solo female traveller. I would have felt very comfortable staying here if I was travelling alone.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: All was good, kind owner and close to beach and pizzeria!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host/owners are extremely friendly and provided recommendation on the area. The cabins are very nice and comfortable. Good breakfast. I would easily stay there again
Cons: Parking was on the street but not an Issue.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Matthew and Natalia (owners) are great! They really make you feel at home. M has some great info on surrounding beaches, local restaurants and shops. He even knows which ATMs have the best rates! Natalia makes a great breakfast and is very accommodating to make sure you have a good stay. A/C was chilly, wifi was constant, room was very clean (no bugs in rainy season, yay!). 10-15 minute walk to the beach. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our host was very gracious and helpful with all questions we had regarding places to go and how to get there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My daughter and I had the most amazing experience. We planned on staying 3 nights and ended up staying 5! Matt, Natalia, and their son Dante showed us the Pura Vida lifestyle. Great reccomendations on hidden beaches, surf, sunset, and food. We can't wait to go back and thank them for all of their love and hospitality!
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: In general the host treatment was very bad, she was mean when we asked about parking security, the parking is totally outdoors and next to the main street. The breakfast service was bad and the food was not good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are extremelly friendly and welcoming. The property is very well maintained and clean. Breakfast was always delicious and fresh. Everything was perfect. We would love to stay there again on a future trip to Costa Rica.

Cons: The pictures on the web are way far from the reality. The bathroom smells like a sewer, no tile on the counter like the websites picture, paint falling of the walls and you can't flush toilet paper. I would never recommend this place.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Huge apartment with kitchen facilities, very clean, full bathroom plus 2 peice bathroom, and nice little patio.
Cons: The inside stairs would be tricky if you were vision impaired, had small children or mobility issues.none of these were issues for us so we didn't mind
8.8 Excellent
Pros: very clean, just the right size, the landscaping was lush, pretty. Other friendly patrons out by the pool. Very nice place
Cons: Old appliances, but quaint, everything worked
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The place was disgusting, I should had listen to reviews bout rooms not being clean but I gave it the benefit of doubt. First the pillows had hair on them, the towels in the bathroom were like stain with paint or something and worse part is the bathroom smelled like week old sweaty clothes( not exaggerating). There was a shirt hanging on curtains from previous guest. There was a fridge but it didn't work! I left the place, there was no way I could sleep there let alone shower and use those towels. The pics are deceiving and I don't know who reviewed this place but my experience was. Awful!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice facilities
Cons: The beds distribution is not couples friendly. We weren´t allowed to play music and do some noise even before the allowed time of 10 p.m
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved staying here for a couple of nights. It worked perfectly for the three of us. The pool is great
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was really nice, with a beautiful swimming pool. The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful. The apartments are close enough to the centre and beach but also far enough so you don’t hear any noise (except for monkeys hah). Totally recommend this place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: close to the city center but very quiet
Cons: the keys didn't work that well

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location, the staff and the price were great. The room had some very minor issues but in this location you'll only be in the room to sleep!! I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!
Cons: The mattresses were a little hard, The windows didn't close all the way so it would get noisy at times. The drains smelled bad from time to time. The wifi was hit and miss. Very minor issues.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really friendly staff, good location close to supermarket and the main square/beach. Excellent pool and gardens which all rooms face out on. Only stayed for 1 night as previously at another hotel in the area but wish we had been here the whole time! Bed was very comfortable and rooms well equipped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and I can cook my own food
Cons: kitchen can be better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, I love the friendly family that owned the villa. The pool was great too!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Sweet and helpful staff. Beautiful property with lots of animal visitors. Clean rooms everyday. If I ever come back to this area I will definitely stay there again.
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the grounds and the pool! The staff was so friendly and helpful.
Cons: The bed was extremely hard on my back. It’s the ONLY reason I wouldn’t stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We love this amazing place for the moment we arrived! Samantha was so friendly and gave us info for the best places in town and walk with us at our room and show us everything super nice of her. The beds are super comfy, convenient share kitchen, our room had tv and a little fridge very homey, the pool was always clean. The lady who clean our room everyday was so nice. Overall we will recommend you to visit, we are in love and can’t wait to comeback!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s my preferred play to stay any time I’m in CR.
Cons: It’s super mellow and almost every room is poolside.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect pool for us and the kids. Close to SuperMarket. Easy to the beach. Good value for money!

Pros: The place was quaint, quiet and close to everything in Tamarindo. The ladies in the front office, Sofia and Samantha were wonderful. They helped book all of our excursions and truly went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay!

6.7 Good
Pros: Loved the hotel and staff
Cons: Found room to not be very clean, stains on the blanket so didn’t use it and shower had grime on the floor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the food, the rooms, and the property were so lovely and charming! Paola was so helpful and a gracious host. We would recommend Hotel Flores to anyone visiting Tamarindo.
Cons: Nothing!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property! The pool and garden are absolutely incredible, the location was amazing, super close to everything in Tamarindo. Breakfast was also fantastic! She even made us to go breakfast on days we had to leave early! Air conditioning was powerful on those hot days!
Cons: The shower pressure was close to nothing but the water was hot. We lost power on several occasions but that wasn’t the hotels fault it was just annoying because they can’t cook when that happens. The cleaning services basically was just him making your bed and mopping the floor. I would’ve like clean towels daily and maybe a sheet change.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is like a small Italian villa with a lovely courtyard pool. The family managers were great to deal with and the breakfasts were very nice. The location in town is ideal.
Cons: If it were right on the beach that would be fantastic but would be three times as expensive. It was good value for what you got.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a great small hotel, near the main downtown. A quiet place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived Walter met us with a smile and helped us with our bags. We stayed at the Hotel Flores for a week, our first trip to Taramindo. We stayed in the small apartment on site. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. We had a very nice outside sitting area over looking the pool. It was extremely private and quiet!! The breakfast was delicious with lots of great choices. Paulo, the owner, and Walter both get five stars!! Every morning when we were at breakfast Walter slipped into the room and it was all made up by the time we returned!! The location was excellent close to the beach, a tiki bar across the street and a wonderful Italian restaurant next door!! What more could you want?
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the hotel is amazing! The staff is super nice. The breakfast was is really good.
Cons: I would add an early breakfast option for people taking tours or buses.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location in town great for walking everywhere. Food on property. Yummy. Pool area beautiful.
Cons: WiFi is spotty but that is so most places we went. It was best out by pool. Room furnished but not upscale. Comfortable. Bathroom basic-not updated.
6.3 Good
Pros: A basic B&B with nice location in Tamarindo. The room was equipped with an effective AC and a fridge. High speed internet available and good car parking. Nice breakfast in the morning and it was always a pleasure to be served by the friendly personnel.
Cons: The cleaning was not OK, especially not in the bathroom. internet was fast but WIFI was poor (swaying). You have to expect that you are in Costa Rica with a lot of wildlife such as birds singing, raccoons fighting and noisy monkeys, all this during night and morning hours.
7.5 Good
Pros: The small pool and gardens were pleasant. The owner takes pride in her hotel and keeps it in good condition. We felt private and safe there.
Cons: We were given free bottles of water without explanation there could be a temporary issue drinking the tap water in Tamarindo due to public sewer work. The hotel is charming and clean but the street is gravel and dusty during windy season.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very friendly and accommodating host. Great breakfast and coffee to start the day with.

8.2 Excellent
Pros: Great rooms, comfortable, modern, clean, nice pool, monkeys on the grounds!
Cons: The only real issues is that all night there was pounding music I guess from a bar or club near by? Not sure where came from, but it was really loud and made it almost impossible to sleep, even with ear plugs.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location
Cons: The cleanness and the building was very old and I think they should invest in painting at least
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location
Cons: Rooms too small
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff! We were upgraded to a larger room for no reason. Close to everything, though Tamarindo is small anyway. Good local food advice from staff.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The staff were nice, the pool was great and the place is fairly close to the beach and some fun bars but at the same time just far enough to avoid some of the noise.
Cons: Disappointed with the room, pictures made it look much nicer, it was pretty dirty, the sink barely works and the kitchen facilities were lacking, the stovetop didn’t work because the propane line leaked (shout-out to the security guard for fixing it for us though which was awesome) as a budget hotel room this place would be fine, but it’s over priced in my opinion.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, the pool area is lovely, there have been monkeys and iguanas wandering about. The price is reasonable and the a/c works well.
Cons: The bathroom door is louvered so there is lack of privacy and the beds are hard. More water pressure in the shower would be nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gabriella was very accomodating with the breakfast option and we were able to eat gluten and dairy free with no extra charge. She also included my daughter’s breakfast which we greatly appreciated. She was very helpful with our shuttle to & from the airport. Even helped us save money by changing our money to U.S. last minute. All the staff at Bodega restaurant were amazing! The cleaning ladies were very sweet and made sure we had everything we needed! A wonderful experience. I highly reccomend !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked the staff at the front desk. I can’t remember the name of the lady who check me in, unfortunately, but she went beyond her duties: called me a reliable taxi for my return and recommended a great sunset cruise too. Loved the privacy of my room and the deck.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was nice , clean and roomy.
Cons: The water pressure in the shower and sink was so low that we couldn't take a shower. We had to fill up water bottles and splash on us in order to take a shower. We didn't even wash our hair after being at the beach because we knew we won't be able to remove the shampoo from our hair.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Nahua was great. The kitchen was well equipped. The air conditioning worked very well. It is right across the road from the bank and several bars and restaurants. Grocery store next door. Minutes to the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would defiantly go again!!!!!
Cons: Better lighting in the room would be good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: They man who runs the front desk is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very nice and opened up to a lovely courtyard. I highly recommend La Palapa.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is superb. Right in front of the water. The owner is very nice and attentive, as are the waiters and staff in general. They have good food and amazing breakfast. Loved it. It's located walking distance from the hubbub of Tamarindo.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel La Palapa has wonderful staff that was so accommodating. The location was amazing as well. I saw a lot of hotels and we were so glad that we stayed where we did. The hotel management and cleaning staff were amazing! The accommodations were comfortable and so adorable. We very much enjoyed the outdoor kitchen and walking to the market.
Cons: We had no complaints other than we wish we had packed a candle for mosquitos on the patio.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, great restaurant, great staff Brian, Henry, Michael ETC. highly recommend this place.
Cons: No complaints whatsoever which is rare for me :)
7.5 Good
Pros: Rolando was very friendly and helpful! The location right on the beach was great! The room itself was spacious and comfortable and had a kitchenette. It was nice to sit in the chairs or the hammocks and watch the sunset! Parking was included.
Cons: Although the hotel is beachfront, there is a restaurant in front of the hotel. And there are a lot of palm trees. So you don't really have a beach view from the room. It is still a nice palm tree view, but just not what we expected. Also, there was a lot of mosquitos in the room. I expected there to be mosquitos in the area because of the beach, but I didn't expect there to be a lot of mosquitos in the room itself. Definitely bring bug spray!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I've stayed at this hotel three times now and the best thing about it, is most of the rooms are facing and just footsteps from the beach. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially Rolando who checks on his guest throughout their stay. Also the housekeeper does a good job each day, that said the rooms are basic but clean and this hotel is all about location!
Cons: The under stairs bathroom in the rooms with the bed upstairs are small and could be a challenge if you are a large/tall person! Also the bed in my room was very hard "but I still slept OK" and the sofa bed downstairs has seen better days! Also the chairs on the patio of my room were uncomfortable, so between the sofa and the chairs outside it was difficult finding somewhere to sit and have a relaxing read. That said, I still like this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was absolutely fantastic. Easy access to everything. Definitely will stay here again.
Cons: Nothing really.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is suberb, 10 steps away from the beach and the sea and in the middle of Tamarindo. Really nice relaxed atmosphere. Really cool surf lessons on the hotel site (La Palapa Surf) Our kids of 9 & 11 slept good at the beds, but for larger kids it is kind of small upstairs, so I would reccomend a second room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect. Nice to be near the beach keeping your belongings safe at the hotel and you can just run back if you need anything. Loads of good restaurants within 5 minutes walk
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beachfront access says it all. If you’re looking for luxury not my first choice but not bad. That said, very nice and clean hotel/bungalow to have a romantic stay in.
Cons: Privacy and local hustlers(bird whistles, beads, etc)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast was light but that's ok, dont need to eat too much! room was fab!
Cons: the music battle between the hotels beside the hotel. but i wasn't there to party, i was there to zen out. i still zenned out :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice, small hotel with 7 rooms, located in the center of Tamarindo right at the beach. We had one room with kitchen, view on the beach, perfect. Restaurant is excelent, also. Parking available. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: None

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an excellent hotel in a quiet location at the very end of the beach. We stayed in a room with the big balcony and we fell in love with it instantly. Alexia, who is running this place is a lovely person and is taking a good care of this place. Our room was clean and the bathroom spacious with nice fancy cosmetics provided. Bed very comfortable and big. The breakfast was included and made with love. Freshly baked croissants, crunchy baguette, freshly pressed juice, coffee, scrambled eggs, fresh fruit and even the waffles as a treat from Alexia. The terrace in front of the hotel facing the beach is an amazing place to relax, super tidy and harmonic. Plenty of space to park your car in front of the hotel. Excellent value and hospitality on a whole different level.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The pool is amazing!
Cons: The shower water went from hot to cold multiple times during one shower.

Cons: The entrance sign is completely blank. We passed the place three times and finally found it after asking neighbor. This spoiled the first impression. The room and pool were nice. Had to be moved because toilet didn’t flush in first room.

Pros: Luna Llena was perfect for our family of 3 with an 8 year old. Walking distance to everything was perfect. The owner helped us with info and booking a catamaran. We loved it!!

Pros: Our stay was very nice. We are a family of five and the bungalow that we rented was comfortable enough for the five of us. We’ll definitely go back. The stuff was really nice too.

Pros: Breakfast was great. Got you ready to surf all day long.
Cons: The bed. Hard as a rock. I like firm but this was just uncomfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Luna Llena is in a great location. A little bit outside of town but still right next to everything. We were pleasantly surprised by the restaurant for dinner. The pizza, pasta and salads were quite good. We also think the best cocktails of our trip were here - all fresh fruit. Amazing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We felt like we had the place to ourselvea.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Luna Llena was amazing we were traveling with a 8 month old so we really enjoyed the quiet setting, just a block away from the beach and the main part of Tamarindo, we had a car rented but didnt have to drive unless we left town. Clean rooms and friendly staff we stayed in bungalow 6, it had a loft with two twin beds and the main floor had a king bed with a kitchen and bathroom. Cable TV, we don't speak spanish but was good to have cartoons for the little one. All the rooms are centered around the pool offering food and drinks from noon-3 and 6-9PM. The landscaping was very nice, providing privacy, quiet and just a calm vibe, very relaxing, we enjoyed spending time there.
Cons: Wifi signal was weak in the room, good around the pool. Beds were a little too hard for our liking.

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The pool and the location.
Cons: With the exception of Randall, bellman, the staff was uniformly indifferent bordering on rude. The food was terrible and the service no better. The hotel was under construction in the main restaurant and in the parking lot across the street which I wasn't aware of prior to my stay. There was no peace and quiet anywhere you went and not just from the construction - also from grounds maintenance. The property is beachfront, but it is split across both sides of a very busy main street so if you stay poolside you will have to cross the street. Also, we went during the rainy (low) season so the adults only pool was essentially closed - no service whereas the family pool (which was nice) had service but if you wanted an adult beverage you HAD to contend with the family pool.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Ongoing work, noisy traffic- essentially a mass Public resort, limited privacy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly especially Irene front desk, Bernie out front. Ck our on 20 Jun front desk very helpful.
Cons: WiFi rooms across the street bad reception.

Pros: It’s a beautiful place, right on the beach and very easy to get around!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast food could be a better selection instead of the same food each and every day.
Cons: The variety of food at breakfast could be changed. Fried eggs, eggs Benedict Or sausages could be added to the menu
9.4 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location, surfing, tour organizing, pools
Cons: Kids club would be great
4.2 Okay
Pros: Great location and beach. Good for learning to surf and walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Cons: The resort was under construction during our stay. The pool was right next to the construction and on the path to the beach. Probably the best resort on Tamarindo beach but did not meet expectations for $400/night for 2 small queen size beds near a busy road. There are no activities at the resort. It’s more like vacation rental than a resort. They allow horses and dogs on the beach. No clean up of horse poop.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Resort was very nice and in a great location. Room was clean and right on the beach. Staff was friendly and very helpful.
Cons: No guests are allowed in rooms.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Loved breakfast
Cons: Rooms are a little small
5.8 Okay
Pros: Always love its location!
Cons: Construction was goin in from 6:30 in the morning to sunset. We were staying right next to it. We should have been warned or discounted rooms offered. $425 a night shouldn’t have to deal with the mess, inconvenience and mostly noise!!!

Pros: We loved being footsteps away from Playa Grande! So beautiful and walking the beach. The food was delicious at the hotel and the staff could not have been nicer.
Cons: We definitely had something (we think ants) that was bitting us up at night. We should have asked to have our sheets changed but we didn't realize it until it was too late.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Food was great but selection was limited. Very close to a gorgeous secluded beach. Staff was very friendly. Grounds very well maintained with beautiful plantings.
Cons: Not much in walking distance or nearby such as a market.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is our second trip to Costa Rica and our second time at Rip Jack. The location is amazing, you’re a 1 minute walk to the beach and just a short drive to surrounding restaurants, though you could eat at the Rip Jack restaurant every day and not get bored. There two pools and a yoga studio, both kept exceptionally clean. The staff is always very friendly, and there are cute dogs running around everywhere! This location does not disappoint.
