OkayDec. 20104.7
The best thing about the hotel is its location. It's very close to Praca Liberdade and also a street away from the main shopping thoroughfare and Sao Bento train/metro station. It is also very reasonably priced (as is eating out in Porto) and the staff were pleasant.
I stayed in late November for 3 nights and the entire hotel was freezing! The hotel has an electric storage-type heating system, and my room was really cold. I turned on the heater, but it took a long time to warm the room - it would have been nice if the staff turned it on to take the chill out of the room prior to my arrival. In all honesty, it really is a soulless, forgotton-in-time kinda place, and a makeover (with central heating!) would do it wonders given its central location. Also, the room and the lounge areas had a musty stale kind of smell, and a simple room odouriser would really have made a difference. The breakfast was ok, but the breakfast room was really cold so, if you go in winter, wear a fur coat or stand by the toaster!

Good hotel. Central location, breakfast was good. Very centrally located right next to the main train station and right in the middle of the city centre.
I stayed in mid November and the room was absolutely freezing, seemed there was no heating
