Due to Covid, the restaurant was closed so no room service
I loved how clean everything was. I enjoyed their hot tub. The location was absolutely perfect -- right downtown, with access to practically everything Portsmouth has to offer within walking distance.
The price to store our vehicle (valet price) was outrageously high. We did use the service, I just didn't realize (or wasn't informed) the price was going to be $28 for a 24 hour period! We drank two bottled waters stored in the room was $6 total for the two.
Valet could have locked my car to secure my belongings. I was handed my keys and pointed in the direction of my car when I had to retrieve an item. This was when I found it unlocked. Staff was courteous and apologetic. Additionally, we were locked out of our hotel room when returning from breakfast. Had to go back to lobby to have them recode the room key. This was a minor annoyance that went without an explanation.
The location was fantastic. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.
Breakfast was not bad but definitely not worth the money. Our room was not clean in several ways, some the staff tried to help with. The room was simply way overpriced which was much worse due to hugh season.

Temporarily parked by entrance (20 minutes) while we got our room and unpacked. Valets were pleasant and professional. Hotel location was excellent and Portsmouth is very walkable.
At this price, we expected a complimentary breakfast. Expensive valet only parking. We found our own parking nearby for free.

I really enjoyed the food and cocktails while watching football. There was a server by the name Anca who took great care of me. The rooms where very clean and it's walking distance to everything.

I travel often for work and never have I encountered such exceptional service on a consistent basis. Dimple and Natalia are what made my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn Portsmouth Downtown enjoyable, not the hotel amenities nor the look of the hotel.
