Location close to airport but very seedy. Can’t really go outside and feel safe or comfortable.
I would have liked to know that we’d be isolated to the hotel. Nothing around but the airport. Just a place to sleep to catch a plane.
Given I had no choice but to stay in a hotel for the night due to a flight cancellation I picked the Days Inn-JFK Airport. I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived at the front desk. The property is very well maintained throughout! Front desk greeting was friendly and quick. The room was amazingly clean, fresh and up to date. The bathroom was spotless! Tile and fixtures were new and even the shower curtain had no stains whatsoever! I did complement the maintenance crew that I encountered in the elevator. They were cleaning the elevator, and genuinely were proud of their hotel.
The surrounding neighborhood leaves much to be desired. There are no restaurants in walking distance. I called a Lyft to take me to a restaurant 1.5 miles away that would not deliver to the hotel. On my ride there I noticed that most of the homes had barred windows. I'm glad I decided not to walk. Breakfast was included-standard fare, nothing spectacular. Room seems smaller than most other hotels I've stayed in. Same with the public spaces and breakfast area. There were only 3 or 4 tables.

Close to the airport. Airport shuttle runs every hour. Was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast was really great. We were able to leave our luggage after checkout and go to get something to eat before catching the shuttle to the airport.
Small space for four people and lots of luggage. Not much around in walking distance.

Rebooked without any intimation!
Due to overbooking (which is hotel's fault), the hotel had rebooked us at another hotel farther than we had originally planned for. Further, they did not even care to inform us about it before arriving at Days Inn in the wee hours of the night. If you rebook us somewhere else due to YOUR error (overbooking), have the courtesy to inform your patrons!
This is a hotel you stay in to wait for a plane. The rooms are too small for extended stay.
