Comfortable and friendly. The room was really clean and the bed was comfortable. Nice location in countryside but a stones throw from the motorway
A room with a bath on the first floor as opposed to a room on the second floor with only a shower would have been preferred when travelling with a 3 month old baby which the hotel were aware of before our arrival. No cards accepted... Cash only!

The hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating, and the interior was newly decorated and modernised. The breakfasts were well presented and varied in choice. Dinners were well cooked. It was well placed for visits to Meissen, Dresden and the Elbe valley, and the narrow gauge railway was delightful.

It was on the outskirts of Dresden, but close enough via tram or train; tram station was right in front of the hotel, train station was only a 15-min walk; great location. It gave us a taste of normal German life. Local residents recommended a nice restaurant about 500 meters from the hotel, right in the middle of a residential area, and it was one of the best meals we had. There were four in our party, and the pork, beef, and deer dishes were all very tasty with plenty of vegetables on the side; great beer and wine too!
It wouldn't take my visa card. A little difficult communicating in English, but then, we're in Germany! With the help of some friendly guests who spoke English and our handy German dictionary, we managed ok. When we arrived at the hotel around 6 pm, everything was locked; it gave us a scare, but after calling the phone number on the confirmation sheet, and through some broken English, the "owner" arrived in about 15 minutes to let us in. Apparently the hotel restaurant is closed on Wednesdays, the day we arrived. We ate at the hotel restaurant on Thursday night, and the food and beer and wine was all very good, as was the service although English was the the language of choice.
