Staff wasn't overly friendly but was helpful when asked. We had to get our room switched because the carpet was soaked when we got there, which was kind of weird. But the room was cozy enough and the hotel was in the right price range and location for us. It was decent and clean enough, but I wouldn't go in to it expecting luxury.
I was hoping to be able to walk to the shops nearby. They're close enough, but there's no path or shortcut so you have to drive or walk right on 17. There's also no elevator, so we were staying in a second room floor at one point and had to lug up a lot of luggage up the stairs.
Walking Through The Hills
The proximity to our event and food, gas, etc was fantastic. The staff were amazing, as was breakfast. It was fantastic to have four pillows on a double bed! Not every hotel does that. Clean and comfy linens. Mattresses were on the north side of firm, but I'm a side sleeper and prefer a softer bed, so that's just me.
The floors are not level, both first and second floors. The bathroom sloped down so you felt like you were falling when using the facilities.
Walls Like Waxpaper
The staff was good. The property was reasonably clean. The towels soft and the beds comfortable. The microwave and small fridge are a nice convenience.
This is a very old property and it shows its age. Odd old smell. There is no elevator. If you travel with heavy suitcases, ask for a first floor, there is no help. The walls are paper thin. You can hear everything in the next room. The A/C conked out for a bit and there are no screens in the windows so opening them was not an option. There is only a front desk clerk, no security; guests run rampant through the halls after leaving the on-site bar. Wedding guests woke us up every half hour while continuing their partying in the hallway. I'll pay more next time and stay at Homewood Suites or Marriott Residence. But if you're not too picky and need to save money, this will be a good fit.
Hotel is accommodating for pets. Price was reasonable. Bed was very comfortable.
Was not told about pet rate. Hotel charged my credit card upon arrival and didn't tell me. Location could be better. Route 17 is a nightmare.
Nobody entered my room while I was sleeping. That's about all I can think of t for the positives...
The hall ways smelled like urine. The air conditioner was very loud. I had a room on the front of the building, and the traffic noise was terrible. The walls are very thin, and I could hear everyone's tv while I was trying to sleep (during normal sleeping hours), and I could hear people from nearby smoking rooms coughing loudly all night. Also the smell of smoke was fairly pervasive. I was not expecting the Ritz, just a clean quiet place to sleep. That is all. I was asked upon departure how everything was, and I mentioned to the gentleman at the front desk it was very loud and obnoxious, and he just said "oh, sorry about that, have a nice day".
Clean room, good restaurant in the hotel.
The staff was rude, no elevator. They expected me to carry my heavy bags up 2 flights of stairs and did not offer to help. I ended up throwing my back out. Thanks for nothing.
