Pros: It was perfect! The ambiance was beyond our expectations. Can't say enough good things about it. And Gabby, the concierge, was above and beyond. If I'm ever back in Saint Paul there's no question about where to stay. Will miss you Saint Paul Hotel!!!
Cons: The only thing is we didn't know was that the mini bar and in-room treats were weight activated. When you picked the bottle of nuts up, you were charged. But as soon as we realized this and brought it to their attention, there was no problem in waiving the fees.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. I would come back to stay again.
Cons: It's always a beautiful place to stay. I have been there many times and will go back yearly. Very friendly staff and easy check in and check out.

Cons: Thought the fee to park overnight $30 was a bit high for the market (St. Paul) and then not enough staff in AM to get car so we waited about 15 minutes.

9.5 Excellent (67 reviews)
C$ 250+
Overview Reviews
Stay the night on the Mississippi River – literally – at the Covington Inn. This houseboat is trimmed stem to stern in mahogany, brass and bronze, extending to guests the elegant comfort once reserved aboard historic work vessels for company executives and VIPs. Windows and portals in the boat's tiered design draw light into each room. Sleeping quarters feature a mix of ingenious built-in cabinets with simple furnishings from the Covington's work era. Salvaged fixtures, nautical antiques and historic art provide tasteful reminders of the river and the inn's past life. Sitting permanently moored within the reflection of downtown St. Paul's towering skyline, The Capitol, museums, theater, fine dining and shopping wait just across the bridge. Offering a place for both a quiet getaway and the city spree, the Covington does it all. Beyond the privacy of the staterooms, the salon provides a comfortable gathering place. Lit with clerestory windows and furnished with fireside couches and window-front tables, the salon offers a great place for breakfasting, letter writing and browsing through the Covington library of historic river and shipping books. Our breakfasts, cooked in the boat's galley, pamper you with just a touch of the gourmet while fueling a full-day's exploration.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was by far the best I've ever had in either a hotel or a bed and breakfast. Liz is the perfect hostess, she took such good care of us! She listened to my husband's old jokes, and even laughed. She made an excellent recommendation for a Mexican meal. She even let us spoil her adorable dog. For dog lovers like us, being able to pet Jay Jay was an added perk.
Cons: The weather was the only thing that wasn't perfect. We had one cold rainy day, but even then it was fun to sit in our cozy room and watch the river.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent with a broad array of options.
Cons: Spare roll of toilet paper in the room. I was choosing to not have housekeeping (to be able to contribute a few $$ toward St. Jude's) which left the toilet paper a little sparse by the end of 3 day stay.

Pros: Located half a block from the Xcel Energy Center. Can't get much closer you are going to an event there. Also lots of restaurants & bars within a block or two. Would definitely check out Cossetta's across the street for lunch or dinner, and the bakery attached has amazing croissants, pastries and coffee in the mornings. Awesome location. Valet parking on site for $31 a day. Beds are super comfortable. Rooms were very quiet. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. I didn't try it, but there is a continental breakfast included with your stay. Would definitely stay here again.

Pros: Loved that the walls weren't so thin I could hear the neighbors.

Cons: I was wondering what the next day was going to be in the back of my mind and it would be a big surprise if you can see that it was a little more money than I expected it would do for a picture that's been in a lot worse for a second and I would like it if

Cons: I booked early to assure I would get a handicap room because I am unable to work, and was assured I had a very nice handicap room. When I got there to check in it seemed they gave my room to someone else. I had a long trip there and wasn't able to even shower.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Free shuttle to concert was awesome. Will stay here anytime I come for a show
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean updated
Cons: Reservation process booking.com to Doubletree reservations was NOT a seamless process. I had to add on dates to the rooms therefore I had to make extra reservations. When booking for multiple people this became an issue. Additionally I needed to add names after the fact that also became an issue. It was not easy to do on the website. One day before travel I called DoubleTree to confirm all of the reservations and some of them were messed up and mine actually got canceled and I had to have it re-scheduled. They originally told me I did not have a room.

Pros: The staff was exceptionally friendly, the room was clean and the bed comfy, the hotel itself was quite nice.
Cons: The only downsides were that there wasn't a free continental breakfast like most hotels offer, there wasn't a bereavement rate, and although the shower was beautiful, it was difficult to not have a tub traveling with a toddler.

6.8 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly and helpful.
Cons: The room was small and showing its age. Our room was noisy, near the building AC and elevator and there was a sound like a loud light switch being turned on and off at different times of the night. Most rooms now have a USB connection on the lamps or TV that allow you to charge your phone.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed my stay at the hotel but for location and how expensive the room was I could have gotten a jacuzzi or something like that so its worth the expense. I probably will go to a different place next time. Some of the guests were being nasty but thats not your fault. Great breakfast and bar. Oh and Netflix or something damn nothing on when you are staying somewhere that doesnt have the the technology available now. Or cable TV something. Great cleaning lady and desk workers. All in all it was a good time nice and quiet in the rooms.
Cons: Pool was small . Tiny towels . Channels available for the TV in our room.

Pros: Everything started out fine and then I left for a little to go home and feed my dog left my son there and his friend was coming back and by the time I got back we had been kicked out
Cons: Yes the night worker was very rude kicked us out the room said we had to many people in room but they where not staying they where visiting and we had no complaints earlier that day he called they police and was very rude how do I get my money back
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice hotel, nice restaurant and bar, comfy beds.
Cons: Check in took way too long. There was a concert in town and they should have had more than 1 person working. Got charged for parking on the final invoice, and still had to pay parking when leaving the property.
6.8 Good
Cons: No hot water. When I reported it one lady knew exactly all about it. Apparently 1/2 of the hotel. Runs out of hot water. She didn't offer to do anything about but check with maintenance and call me. She didn't call so I told other front desk people one in the morning next day. One in the evening didn't offer me a new room with hot water , and acted as if they've never heard of such a thing. Didn't even say sorry to hear that. The hotel is nice the front desk people are useless.
6.8 Good
Cons: The air conditioning did not work in our room. Ask to be moved to another room-sold our. They brought up a fan. We paid over $200 for one night’s stay.

Cons: The shuttle service doesn't start until 8am, but this was not communicated on their website
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had stayed here before and really liked it so we booked again. But...see what we didn't like.
Cons: It is a non-smoking hotel and this time when we stayed they put a smoking location just outside the front door. So, you had to walk through smoke to get into the building. And, because it was so close to the front door that smoke came into the building. The same occurred through windows at the back of the building. Why on earth would you put smoking locations so close to entrances of the building? If it is smoke free - make it smoke free by not allowing smoking on the premises.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, great rate, awesome room, and very comfortable
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Basically free snacks, room layout, some of the staff were nice
Cons: Mold in the room, smelled like cheap perfume and mold/mildew, stained pillow, loud appliances
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was very updated and clean. Love the little kitchen area which is fully stocked with dishes, dish soap, paper towels, everything! If I were staying longer I’d buy food to make at the hotel as there are grocery stores just a 5 minute drive away. They have coffee and fruit 24/7 and a coin laundry and gym that looked nice even though I didn’t use them.
Cons: Strange entryway, kind of small and hard to find late at night, but we managed. The parking lot outer spots were filled with damaged cars from the collision shop next door. Overall nice value for the money. I would stay again and recommend.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. We loved the fact that you can do free laundry, borrow kitchen items and access the Candlewood Cupboard. Safe area that’s close to downtown and the Mall of America.
Cons: The trash cans around the property (outside and in halls) needed to be emptied. The outside trash was overflowing during our entire stay. I’d also give the cleanliness a 4 out of 5. There were a few hairs in and on the shower/tub upon check in.

Pros: The room next door was very loud late the night of my first stay. I hate complaining, but I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep. So I went to the front desk to let them know, and I asked if I could move into a different room. The staff person was very kind. Very pleasant staff and comfortable, clean room.

1.0 Poor
Pros: Room was comfortable and clean
Cons: Very noisy until 2am, woke me up and kept me up (people out in the hall yelling/swearing, doors slamming). I asked the front desk to resolve this, they never did. They stopped answering my calls.I emailed Radisson and I never heard back from them.
6.5 Good
Cons: Getting into the bed was nearly impossible. Way to high for a short and/or disabled person to get into easily
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: Convenient location to area attractions.
Cons: Clock in room was broken, tv remote missing from room. Cleaning staff entered room on several occasions even after having had checked in.
