Located in Borgarnes, Hraunsnef Countryhotel is a 3-minute drive from Grabrok and 6 minutes from Glanni Waterfall. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Did not like traditional Icelandic beds and bed covers. I prefer a true full or queen size with one cover for the entire bed.
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. The staff was helpful.
Cons: The location is next to the highway however, the rooms were not very clean (the shower drain stuffed, quite a lot of dust), and during checkout I was charged with an extra bed even though I booked for 3 people in the first place.
Pros: Great place to stay if you traveling in the area or passing by, Excellent food at dinner, did't have the chance to try breakfast as we woke up too late)) The quality of the room, facilities and the attitude of staff is as of 5 star hotel. Will definetely come back again!
Pros: nice breakfast spread, super fast, efficient & value for money laundry service, use of 2 hot tubs
Pros: Liked the restaurant the animals hot tub and view
Pros: Convenient location. Excellent restaurant for breakfast and dinner. Animals were fun. Great staff, especially Heidi. Loved the hot tub too.
Cons: Room was rather small.
Pros: Just a quick overnight stay, as our arrival was delayed and we had a late check-in. The room was super cosy, with a nice bed, a watercooker and bathrobes. The breakfast had some tasty options to choose from. Can recommend this hotel.
Pros: The cozy and relaxed surroundings
Cons: The beds are old and worn out. They need new beds and pillows. Unable to get a good night's sleep between 2 different rooms over 3 nights.
Pros: The farm's atmosphere is awesome. You may lay down in the open Jacuzzi looking at the mountains, the sky, change a position and then looking at the river and the valley. Going out of the Jacuzzi, wearing the thick bathrobe and then going to the partially sheltered fireplace area, meeting other people in a very good atmosphere.
Cons: The rooms are quite small. At my room (25) there was no cupboard to store the clothes etc. Room #25 is the first room in a row along an open air corridor, hence each of the guests that lives in one of the rooms in this corridor must pass there. It was quite surprising how many times people there looked into my private room while passing back and forth. Of course I could use the curtain; however, if I did so I would not have a window at all in my room.

Pros: We loved the owner owned villa that we rented for 3 days. It was so nice that we didn’t want to leave. Private access to a hot tub and the Hvita River.
Cons: Lacking some things in house — no soap, nothing in fridge, no coffee. For a villa, a few little items like this are usually expected. Also heating — it was very hot in villa. Thermostats didn’t seem to work.
Pros: Everything on site for the family. Location was great to explore surrounding area. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Pricey for what it is.
Pros: We enjoyed the design of the hotel. Well située to explore the area. Good restaurant.
Pros: The hotel is new. The situation if the hótel is very nice in the beautiful nature. And the room was very clean and nice..
Cons: Would like extended pool hours. Otherwise couldn’t fault it.
Pros: Wonderful place. Excellent guest-house, great rooms, wonderful facilities. Amazing restaurant with brilliant food. A hidden gem. We want to go back !
Cons: nothing, simply wonderful place.
Pros: It was new and clean, enjoyed the pool.
Cons: It’s a remote location.
Pros: The views were beautiful, food outstanding, and mountain bike ride memorable.
Pros: This hotel is the complete package. On a small rise, the architecturally designed building has huge windows, lots of light and amazing views. Rooms are well appointed with tea/coffee making and mini fridges. Local art in rooms and all public areas. The excellent restaurant (a la carte and tasting menu) has a fireplace and floor to ceiling windows. The property is large and incorporates a snack bar (think ice cream), "roadhouse-style" restaurant (awesome lunch buffet), 4 pool spa (free for hotel guests), golf course (exec), camp ground and gas pumps. The only think missing is a local handicraft shop in the hotel. This is not a chain hotel and absolutely worth every penny.
Pros: The staff at Hotel Husafell was Awesome! Super helpful!!! Restaurant was good and room was very nice. My kids loved the fact that there was a golf course and that it was included with the room. Great hiking trails around the hotel and the staff helped us to book horse back riding lessons close by.
Cons: Pool wasn't very impressive. Seemed like a campground pool.
Pros: A really special and delightful hotel with an excellent restaurant - superb food.

Pros: Breakfast was nice, room was clean. All ok.
Cons: Rooms are a bit small. But for 1 night its ok.
Pros: Good beds & bfast.
Cons: Bit out of the way, no view to speak of. Very small room but pretty modern compared to the room they first assigned to us (which had 2 seperate beds and was pretty warn). When we asked for Some extra vegetables for dinner as they were very few to start with. we were told this was not possible (?).
Cons: The cod was over cooked and dry
Pros: Friendly staff, perfect service
Cons: Small offer for dinner, very slow WIFI
Pros: Location is in a sleepy village, driving distance from hot springs, waterfalls, and volcanoes- no supermarket nearby, so stock up before heading here. Hotel restaurant is superb- really good dinner menu and breakfast selection. Staff is very friendly. Room beds are very comfortable. The showers are fantastic!
Pros: The room was excellent. The girl in the lobby was very friendly and nice.
Pros: Staff, atrium and bar. Great location for those needing make one more stop between Aukeryri and Reykjavik. Restaurant food was fantastic also.
Cons: View from the room was that of a graveyard. Hotel appears to be an old hospital or nursing home. Atrium and bar were excellently renovated however.
Pros: Location to Krauma. Breakfast. Comfortable beds!
Cons: A little pricey.
Pros: Nice and good
Cons: Restaurant was closed and we were not able to have dinner since nothing is around
Pros: Easy to find. Parking aplenty. Liked happy hour. Good breakfast. Loved the heated tile floor in the bathroom.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent and the owners were very kind and recommend us a places to visit which is spectacular. The place is really nice and enjoy the location which is far from the city so that you can enjoy the quiteness.
Cons: Nothing to say about. It's really out of my expectation.
Cons: the reception lady, I guess she is the owner, makes you feel she is the house owner while not the guest house manager. ( hope you can feel the difference between these.)
Pros: Beautiful bathroom and toilets, friendly and helpful host. They serve dinner in their little private restaurant. The guesthouse is a private house with lots of bedrooms, in the middle of nowhere..
Cons: No air-condition and only a small window that you could open, so the room was very hot during nights.. You can also hear people talk in the other rooms.. Gravel road to the guesthouse..
Pros: Quiet location, nice common arreas
Cons: Water in bathroom had very strong sulphuric smell, to the point that taking the shower was not pleasant at all, do not try to use tap water during teeth brushing. Drinking water was available in the kitchen though. Our family room was located in the basement with only two little windows at the far end of it. We spent most of the evening upstairs though.
Pros: Beautiful place in the midle of nowhere, the owners were super kind with us, thanks!
Pros: Very nice, calm and comfortable guest house with very friendly people who were indeed helpful and recommended us perfect sights to visit.
Pros: Great communication with the owner as she helped with a room that had a double bed. We served dinner in the evening and that was ok.
Cons: It is a bit different if you have your own food as you are not allowed in the dining room on the ground floor. You need to ask the owner to store the food in the fridge for you. The last part of the road to the guesthouse is quite bad - be careful!
Pros: Fantastic location with nice panoramic view. Very clean & comfortable. Staff is very helpful. Very delicious traditional Icelandic dishes made by Olafur (owner & chef). Good breakfast.
Pros: Nice information for our trips, great food in the included restaurant and nice hosts
Pros: Very nice place , breakfast and late dinner was offered for an extra $$. Delicious breakfast, worth every penny . Very friendly people eager for help. Strongly recommended.
Cons: keep doing great work , everything was PERFECT
