We like the solid, traditional nature of the hotel - wood panelling etc. It is a change from all the slick, modern hotels.
We found the breakfast a little too busy with so many Asian bus groups. We would prefer a more relaxed environment without being jostled at every turn.
The room 410 was good standard and well serviced.
Dining at Pavilion Restaurant Sat pm. It was not well supervised The main course food (although good in itself) was served on cold plates and therefore food was cold. The service was inadequate. A new waitress was badly trained and did not give proper attention to us as her customers. She did not know her menu , did not offer wine service and did not approach us for enquiry as to satisfaction,or further orders such as desserts and coffee. The restaurant was not busy at the time so that was not an excuse.
The staff were very helpful and friendly from the moment you walked in the door. The service at breakfast was cheerful and pleasant also.
Very tired building. Hardly anything done to it in teh last 15 years.Room was dated and shabby.
Great service from staff who cared about us throughout our stay. Great restaurants and variety of meals available.
We had booked a superior room but was upgraded to a 6 room suit. Absolutely perfection.
The staff were absolutely wonderful and were always willing to assist. The beds were the most comfortable we slept in during out time in NZ which was a delight.
Clean, good room size, nice bed and adequae TV. Spa was very good and dining was more than adequate.
Shower was poor.
Location, all services and wonderful breakfast\restaurant. One of the best hotel where i had been.
The staff were very friendly, we loved the hot pools and the buffet breakfast was memorable.
