Very spacious and traditional decor. Fantastic staff despite language difficulties.
To describe the place needs more options. I would describe it as Classic Russian, as in very large rooms, very high ceilings, well decorated, great furniture - so a very spacious feeling. (Which is why I chose it, because that's what the photos seem to convey). Also, a calm place to be, relaxing, and being "micro", felt more personal, rather than being lost in a ultra large hotel. The high scores I've given are relative - it's excellent for 3*s. Worth the extra we felt, for comfort/luxury compared to basic/hostel type places. The smart, albeit small, communal style breakfast area also suited us - we could "diy" breakfast, if you like. The staff very helpful and friendly. Conclusion: excellent for a 3*. Pay less for a hostel (which we've also done, near to here), but be prepared for more hustle and bustle and crowded feeling. Pay more for more luxury, if you want that! We visit St P. twice a year, to visit my wife's family, with our young children. First time we've stayed here. It's very likely we will stay here again.
We were there in the middle of the rest of the building being renovated. A very slight inconvenience. This will soon be all finished, at the rate they were going. Then, little things like, no clock in the room- minor inconvenience; shower head holder a bit loose - easily fixed!
It is basic, but is clean and ok and it does not cost a lot. Location is good.
When I arrived, they said I had no reservation. It took quite a while to find it. They tried to charge for breakfast even it was included. They tried to charge for the passport registration - which I did not need because I stayed less than 7 days in Russia. Otherwise they were nice and smiley and polite. I do not know if the staff tried to cheat me or they just could not their job properly.
Room was nice, big and good value for money. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom with very adequate shower.
The building of the hotel looks like ready to be collapsed or something like forgotten through years. I understand that the hotel shares the building with apartments but this can nt be an excuse. Walls ready to fall, cables and garbages everywhere and the elevator small and risky. Policy of the hotel to ask registration. For what we already paid more than ten thousands rubles for our visa and i dont see a reason to pay in a hotel for that especially when no where is said. Breakfast for me was a jokeand second day i didnt want to have it. Ok for the price you dont expect many things but better have something outside. Room although it was good it was somehow cold at night and staff was ok.
A quaint little accommodation where we stayed for 5 days. The administrators specially Kseniya and Marina were very nice. We arrived early but were handed over the room with a minimum fuss. The breakfast was also quite substantial. Overall a good experience
