Overview
The Kimpton Hotel Palomar San Diego is a luxurious property tucked nearby the heart of the city’s Gaslamp District, a major entertainment area. Visitors are directly adjacent to the House of Blues, AD Nightclub and Horton Plaza Park. The Copley Symphony Hall, American Plaza, California Webster School of Law, San Diego - Santa Fe Depot Amtrak Station, and USS Midway Museum are all within a mile. San Diego State University, University of San Diego, the San Diego Zoo, Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, Coronado Beach, and the famous SeaWorld are also within a few miles. San Diego International Airport is less than three miles away.

Pros (+) Great location, super friendly staff, we were very pleased!
Cons (-) We read the reviews online, and yes the rooms are a bit small, but other than that, it’s a great location!
Pros (+) Very accommodating to my needs. Came to town for a bodybuilding competition and they were able to get the room set the way I needed, empty fridge and microwave, plus they did my dishes!
Cons (-) Thus is a downgrade from lot of 4 star hotels. Never staying in one again.

Cons (-) Last two nights there, the lobby smelled like a stadium bathroom, staff was not helpful upon checking in, the front door to the hotel has to be the most awkward door I have ever seen on a hotel. Also, instead of having an actual door on the bathroom, they have a sliding glass door. Just a word of warning, if you have a knock at the door and someone is in the shower be sure to pull the door closed ...

Pros (+) Had booked a skyline room and upon arrival front desk told us they had overbooked and put us in a huge skyline suite. Courteous staff, awesome room with a great view and walking distance to all the nightlife in gas lamp. Will be coming back soon
