Customer service
Is it possible to be too good teen?
The coffee, beds, and showers were all nice.
There was no A/C as described. The vent made super weird noises. The Ceiling fan turns off ever half an hour at night which was incredibly obnoxious. Also did not feel incredibly secure - and the tv randomly turned on one morning while I was still sleeping.
Parking is $35/night, which is about ⅓ of the cost of the room. Be aware of this if driving.
Great Value / OK Location
Great price for downtown, and 19 minute walk through Union Square.
New Years Eve
The location isn't terrible and the hotel is pretty cute. I think they must have raided an Ikea for the room decor. The parking lot isn't that big, and we had to pay $40 to valet at another hotel across the street. When we got to our room, we noticed it smelled funny and the carpet was wet under the window near the radiator. They moved us to another room which I think was a little smaller. The bathroom was unbelievably small, even for an older hotel. A larger person would have had quite a bit of difficulty getting ready in the mirror or using the toilet. Being that it was NYE, it was very loud. There were parties going on in other rooms and we could hear everything from loud music to couples having mediocre sex.
Pretty building on the outside. Disappointing insi
Be careful walking around at night, lots of homeless, not a great area. The idea the hotel is trying for is good. I like the bulk shampoo & soap dispensers.
The bed was small and uncomfortable, on a wooden crate of all things. We asked for pillows three times after waiting patiently between each request and housekeeping never brought them. The front desk was apathetic. Parking ends up being almost $40 in addition to the already way overpriced hotel room.
I really enjoyed the fact that it was close to most of the main attractions in San Francisco. My boyfriend and I could walk to most places from the hotel.
I really didn't dislike much about the hotel. I think it would be cool if they offered complimentary breakfast :-) San Fran can be pretty expensive so having something taken care for us would be nice
Subpar
The room was clean and the location is right downtown which is perfect. Probably only good for a short stay
There were only two pillows, the room was hot, and the tv was small. We weren't there to watch tv, but the last hotel we stayed at in Santa Cruz had a decent sized one so we were probably spoiled by that experience. This place is good if you need a place to crash, but something about it was just ehh. And you might as well pay the $30 to park in their lot because you'll never find parking in SF. And all the street parking surrounding it was only 1hr parking until 10pm
The Good Hotel = The Adequate Hotel
Decently priced compared to other hotels in San Francisco. The rooms were updated and nice. Good use of environmentally friendly amenities. No AC and the room we had got pretty warm when the sun came up, but the windows open so we could still cool off the room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free bikes for guests to use. Close to touristy areas and public transit.
Lobby and hallways were a bit dated. Location was a bit sketchy at night, but we never felt unsafe. Housekeeping was sporadic. During our 4 night stay our room was not made up on 1 day and when we checked in around midnight, they had to check to make sure our room had been cleaned. Can be noisy at night with outside noise.
Good choice
For all the eco-friendly/green, modern people out there this may be one of your best options in the city. They do their best to be eco-friendly and I'm sure they'll keep making improvements. They also have free bike rentals which was nice! The staff was quick to help, it was a great deal for our money, the "double bed" room was small but that doesn't bother me, get a queen room if you need the space. Other than that I'm sure you'll like it.
Parking was a bit expensive but there are no decent hotels with free parking.
The hotel has everything you need for a business trip. It's clean and affordable. There are restaurants near the hotel and a CVS, where you can get whatever you need.
Some of the staff members at the front desk weren't the nicest.
The location was good, and staff was friendly. I liked my room and checked out a couple of the free bikes to ride to Golden Gate Park. Had an issue with the toilet when I arrived which was dealt with immediately when I called the front desk.
No refrigerator, room was a little small.
