I was on a top floor with a good view. Very friendly staff; I know they are all doing the best they can in this tough times.
If you plan to stay here long just know that no room cleaning is done until you check out. My stay was for 6 nights and I was only informed that my room would be cleaned on the 5th day when I was checking in. I know this is due to covid and them being careful but which person what to stay in a room that’s not being cleaned?! On the 3rd day I asked for my room to be cleaned and since they have a time that cleaning is done - it was done on the 4th day.
The bed was comfortable and the location was excellent.
There was no hair dryer, the room was dirty, there was a sock under the bed, a mask on the chair, and leftover food in the mini fridge.
Comfortable bed, clean, and free room upgrade!
Parking situation was not good. The hotel has first come first serve self parking because of COVID but charge valet prices still. The parking lot was full so I had to find use a public parking lot.
Room and location
No free bottle water
Restaurant and food options are really limited for such a nice hotel
Nice hotel, overcharges for everything
Clean, had an indoor pool. Staff was friendly enough.
Everything was overpriced, maybe I’m not a 4.5 star hotel guy. Parking was $70/night incl tax (after 1st night I parked outside), water in room was $8. I needed some antacid at night, 2 tabs of pepto=$2. I guess I was expecting more, or it’s really for people who will use the bar and drink more. Water pressure in shower was too low.
Loved it. Get the club room if you can.
Clean rooms and easy check-in and check-out. Professional and looks modern. Also, they have big bathrooms and nice towels and comfortable beds.
Every time I’m here, hotel is always busy, so rooms usually aren’t available until 3:00. They do have an ambassador program for extra perks, but it’s only good for intercontinental hotels and not the chain of hotels it’s associated with. Water pressure in shower is low, but it’s a roomy shower.
We moved here from staying a night at The Scarlet Huntington which was so noisy with road construction we couldn’t think. Everything was excellent and the staff was friendly and attentive.
We liked everything.
Your average IC, nothing exceptional.
Someone kept requesting housekeeping to my room at odd hours of the night and I was charged parking when I didn't drive or have guests. I requested a late check out yet housekeeping kept checking to see if I had left every 2 hours.
Broken thermostat in room, low shower pressure
We stayed a night since it was near our morning meeting. The layout and lobby is great, and the staff is very welcoming. Unfortunately let down by mediocre room experience (deluxe king) and we could not have a good rest.
The thermostat in our room was broken and it was way too hot. We tried re-setting it several times but it kept blowing hot air even though it was 75F. It was very difficult to sleep and sweated through the night. The shower pressure was very low. Having both shower head choices was nice, but it was difficult to feel clean because the water pressure was very low and so it took much longer to soap off. For a business hotel, you had to pay for internet. We used a hotspot instead. It felt a bit confused whether it was a luxury hotel or a business hotel, and for the price point I would stay somewhere else that has better value for money. Not having a good night sleep really affected my work day
The room stunk! For $600 get some air freshener.
The proxility to Union Square shopping.
The expensive parking, and the dinner menu was not versatile. We did not find anything appealing, and left.
Modern hotel (fairly new), clean and professional staff.
Wirless internet access in-room is not included in the standard room rate
staff were extremely helpful. location was perfect. good sized rooms.
Large rooms, comfortable beds, spotless and modern bathrooms. Comfortable bar area.
Parking was very expensive. Some of the staff were lovely, but others almost ruined our stay through constant daily demands to see our passports and being unclear about the policies of the hotel. This was unfortunate, as the hotel itself was excellent.
Comfortable, clean, modern
Requested a king bed but received 2 doubles; restaurant overpriced and limited menu, outrageous parking fees
we liked the comfort of the room, the pool and gym. also the cocktails were excellent
no changing facilities at the pool
Friendly and helpful staff, great location, ok price in winter, very clean, awesome showers, cormfortable beds with great pillows, fantastic views.
Beware rooms facing southwest! Even 23 floors up the sirens from the fire station down the street were loud enough to wake me up about once every hour all night, both Friday and Saturday nights. There are only 2-4 rooms per floor that this might effect, though.
Location. Spa. I will not be returning to the hotel as a guest, but will certainly visit the spa again.
Hotel staff were not necessarily rude, but certainly not the most polite in the world. The biggest factor behind I shall not be staying at the Intercontinental San Francisco again, is because they charge a ridiculous $52 (add tax and service - comes to about $60) per night to keep your car on site. That's approximately 30% the cost of a deluxe 2 bed room.
Room design elements; shower and bed we re excellent
Walls were not soundproof enough
Our stay made my husband's 60th birthday complete. The bed, bathroom door (sliding glass) and view, view, view. I had the first full night's sleep in 10 months in this bed. Between the pillow top and extra feather bed layer it was firm and cozy and my husband didn't snore away in the night. We're buying the feather bed insert for our home.
The cost of the valet parking... $54.00 for one night.
Built in 2008 near the Moscone Convention Center in the business-oriented neighborhood of SoMa, the InterContinental is largely geared toward business travelers but is also an excellent choice for vacationers looking for top-notch service, well-designed rooms, and quality features at very competitive rates.
Intercontinental, San Francisco is a ten-minute walk from Union Square, and only one block from Yerba Buena Gardens and Performing Arts Center. Kid-friendly attractions can be found two miles away at Fisherman’s Wharf, and a San Francisco Giants game can be found one mile away at AT&T Park. Up-to-date electronics and a comfortable design make these some of the nicest rooms in San Francisco, especially for the price.
The high-quality amenities offered at the hotel are top-notch for the price and neighborhood. Features include a large, 24-hour fitness center, lap pool, hot tub, gift shop, and free breakfast. The draw for many guests is the business center and 43,000 square feet of function space split between 21 meeting rooms.
