Location is superb especially because there was snow this weekend. Breakfast as usual fine, although I missed the croissants :( Room is perfect except for the TV programs and bad signal reception .... so hope that the staff could improve this.

My dog got an injury in this “dog friendly” hotel. They have a double layered ELECTRIC FENCE right between the restaurant and the rooms entrance. My dog managed to get tangled there. The fence is COMPLETELY UNMARKED, to me it looked like protection for a newly made lawn. It looks like anything, but something that has high voltage. It is made to protect sheep. No idea why they need the sheep in the hotel, why there is no wooden fence, hiding the electric fence or any single sign there is voltage. My dog got hurt, while enjoying his time on a walk. He got tangled, as it is a double fence, ran through it and got tangled again. It was Sunday evening, we planned to stay for one more day, but left to go to a vet. Our vet said he had some muscle injury, had to get an injection and now will have to restrain dog’s activity for a couple of days. The hotel management reaction was like this is not a big deal, they could not even provide the specifications of the voltage going through the fence. What if a human kid runs there? Would they also not do anything about that? Apart from that, the hotel is extremely dated, no amenities in the room, not even facial tissues, no room service, no laundry service, miserable selection on the breakfast with only warm things being bacon and eggs, definitely stayed in a better 4* in Germany for the price they charge. We wanted to have a nice weekend with our half a year old puppy to show him some snow, but this turned out to be an extremely stressful experience.
- Overall if you are a foreigner and do not speak German, avoid this place. - We did not have towels in our room. - We had asked for a child's bed but were not provided with it until we had asked for it twice again. - Staff generally were unkind and with poor manners. - Staff at the restaurant persistently asked about our background as we could not speak German. - Each guest had been assigned a particular table in the restaurant for breakfast, only we had been assigned a table in a separate room to stay by ourselves there, even though there were free tables in the common area. - When we asked about this seclusion, we did not receive any reply, but were moved to a table in the restaurant area. - In the end, we wanted to leave the hotel. - The manager advised us that we could cancel the remaining stay and we would be fully reimbursed. - We relied on this information, and only when leaving we were told we would not be reimbursed. - Even though the person who worked at the reception could speak in English, she refused to explain the situation to us in English and kept talking in German. - She also did not allow to speak to the manager. -Needless to say, nobody expressed any apology.
Great location. Friendly staff at the reception, a clean room with the extremely nice view from the window.
Small but important: Sauna was not ready in time . At 15:00 (an official opening time for sauna at the hotel) it was still cold. Only one oven in the sauna was used (the sauna is built with two ovens). The restaurant personnel starts cleaning even before the official time the breakfast ends!!!
liked the spa, extra play rooms for the children we got a nice suite with an extra room for the children
short breakfast time, limited dinner time, opening hours of the spa the hotel is just a little old and would need some makeover
