Reception staff were super helpful, cheery, polite, spoke excellent English. Lovely location near to the lake
Restaurant is closed, when I stayed previously I could eat at the Lobby Bar instead but I wasn't able to get a menu this time on the three occassions I tried. Young bad-tempered barman not really interested in serving, lone customer yet a bottled beer took 15 minutes (draught not available, wine only by the bottle), he spent most of the time eating his girlfriend's face and was obviously aggravated when I disturbed him by paying. I saw some other people get a meal there later but they were being served by a female staff member, so maybe it depends on that. Brochure, website and this site promise wired internet access, but only flaky wifi available (and only to connect one device), restaurant which I've never seen open yet in two stays. Mega bright blue lighting across the front of the building, and, as we all know, blue light is the most disturbing colour to sleep/rest. Air con unit sometimes works, sometimes it's just a noise with no air coming out the vent. It's listed as a luxury hotel, and priced as one too, but the contrast with hotels like Dolphin, 200m away, is immense. Even lower level hotels like Koliba a few hundred metres further down the road put it to shame. I've stayed before when it was very busy in the height of summer, and forgave its shortcomings because it was so busy, but this second visit at a very quiet time of year shows I was being too charitable and their shortcomings have nothing to do with volume of guests. Breakfast exists, that's about the kindest thing I can say about it. Two poor Hermans tortoises still crammed into a tiny glass box on the windowsill next to reception - whomever owns them needs some major education in basic animal husbandry It's aggravating, infuriating even, that they (and this site) continue to boast of facilities that aren't available.
I liked a nice wellness and the location. The hotel room was cosy.
Breakfast was below average, the staff mostly composed of summer workers (no dress code, clumsy, etc.). The cleaning service was also quite poor. The internet connection crashed the first day and the hotel staff was not able to fix it for the rest or our stay (3 days)
During check in we received room which was smaller that we booked - it happen already for 2nd time
On the lake , pool
Materace was bowed, coffee instant!
