Location and sea view, breakfast very good and room also very good
The food was very good
As usual the Bedford hotel was wonderful. The single room is superb. I have stayed in other places which have smaller rooms sold as doubles. I have stayed at the bedford hotel on several occasions and wouldn't stay anywhere else if I visit Sidmouth.
Very thing excellent service
There was nothing we did not like about our say.
pleasant seafront site with good public space for sitting around, as well as a "proper bedroom" rather than a bolt-hole just big enough for a bed. Food was wholesome and well cooked.
It might help drivers to know that there are actually only 6 spaces in the hotel's own car park. Reserving a parking bay was not an option on booking.com, but it probably would help the hotel and the guests to know where they stand on that.
Set on Devon’s Jurassic Coast, The Bedford Hotel is located on Sidmouth’s seafront. It has individually designed rooms with flat-screen TVs, limited free parking and a restaurant overlooking Lyme Bay. Rooms at the hotel are decorated in light shades and modern wallpaper. Rooms include hairdryers, tea/coffee-making facilities and many have panoramic sea views, some also have balconies. Cooked English breakfasts are served each morning in the dining room, whilst the restaurant offers an international table d’hote menu. Produce is sourced from the Devon area and roast dinners are available on Sundays. Sidmouth has miles of sandy beaches for guests to enjoy. Sidmouth Golf Course is a 10-minute walk from the hotel.
