The staff were friendly and helpful
The beds were uncomfortable and the hotel could not supply an extra pillow. The restaurant was very dark and noisy. The food was good and well presented but significantly overpriced for the standard of the hotel.
Stayed here a few times before - usually good quality room and service
Exec double room - towel rail hanging off the wall, toilet broken, shower mouldy. Bar sticky, glasses dirty. Generally disappointing. Reported the bathroom problems to reception next morning- no apology at all.
Food was really good .Outside area lovely .
Not enough staff in bar long queues for drinks
As soon as I was given my room card I was told the hotel doesnt allow any food or drink from outside and that all food and drink had to be bought from the hotel - I've never heard this from any hotel before! The first room I went into had a strong smell of damp to the extent where it was severely affecting my breathing. I was moved to another room, which again smelt of damp. The TV had no remote, to which I was just told to use the buttons on the actual TV as not every room has a remote. From 7pm onwards, it was as if I was sleeping in the kitchen - constant noise of pots, pans, plates and cutlery banging/being cleaned as well being able to hear conversations and shouting from the kitchen staff. I could hear everything from the room above and across from me (walking, talking, toilets flushing, bags being opened and closed) and the same again first thing in the morning when breakfast service had begun.
The low price to stay there. The fact you can take your dog there. The room was quite nice. Staff were friendly.
The view of the car park, the fact that the toilet seat was half hanging off and by the time we left it had fully come off. The waitress served me a pint of cider instead of a half then told me that she would only charge me for half but unknowingly to me I was charged the full price but didnt realise it until I'd paid the bill. Also we wanted the 2 for 1 meals but were told it's only a Carvery on a Sunday. The beef was like old rubber, tough.
