Bathroom not clean Day on room cleaning sheets were not replaced
Traveling with my wife. Overall we liked it. A few things that were a little off-putting especially considering this is not a value-inn. For the price I expected different. When we got the room, they had the thermostat turned down (which is totally normal), but it was set to 60 at was so cold in there. The pictures show a ton of natural light which was not out experience at all (on 3rd floor facing Clark). Only one of the two reading lights above the bed were working. The countertop vanity in the bathroom needed to be re-caulked badly as there was a clear gap between the two granite slabs. Staff were super friendly so no issue there and the bed was comfortable for us. I expected that for the price, that the room would present with more refinement than it did. I should note that we did receive a free room upgrade for this being on our anniversary which was great of the hotel to do. Really would have been high marks across the board had it not been for those details.
Pros. The room was spacious, nice bathroom and great location.
Cons. When we arrived there were 16 people in line and only one person working the front desk and it was taking at least 5 minutes to check in each person. We arrived at 3 pm when check in begins and there was only one staff member. Even if people in line were couples that would have been a 40 minute wait. We left and came back to check in later where we still had a short wait. Both yesterday and today there was only one working elevator. We were on the 4 floor. We waited 20 minutes for an elevator. Every time it stopped on our floor it was packed full with no extra space for us to get on. This was all a violation of the code to only have 2 people on the elevator at a time due to covid. We attempted to take the stairs but all the stairs we found would only go as far as the 2nd floor and if we went to the first floor it was an emergency exit only and had a warning that the alarm would sound. So again we were stuck waiting for an elevator that we couldn’t get. I finally called the front desk and asked if there was a set of stairs that didn’t lead to an emergency exit and explained our situation. They looked at a map and provided us directions to a stairwell that went to the first floor. We were met with a very hazardous stairwell that was blocked. But we finally managed to fins a way out of the building more than 30 minutes later! This was completely unacceptable.
Pros. High ceilings and plenty of space in the room. Extra large bathroom as well. Very nicely decorated. Noon checkout.
