Located on the banks of the Hillsborough River, which runs through the center of downtown Tampa, the hotel is near dozens of downtown attractions, including the Convention Center, Lowry Park Zoo, WestShore Plaza shopping mall, historic Ybor City, Tampa Bay Times Forum sports arena, The Florida Aquarium, the art museum, and the airport. A free hotel shuttle transports guests anywhere within a three-mile radius. In addition, there is a local water taxi that stops at the hotel dock and offers private charters and harbor tours.

The casual riverfront hotel offers typical amenities for the practical crowd. The Sheraton offers one heated outdoor pool, located in a scenic spot beside the river, as well as a 24-hour fitness center. Cons:There was a festival the day we arrived and the toad was closed. I looked all over my reservation information and Sheraton app and emails for guidance on when it would close and where. When we arrived early and could not get to the hotel, I called and there is no option to speak to the front desk. After trying every auto option the only choice that answered was the restaurant and they had no idea if we could get to the hotel either. Finally transferred me the second time to the front desk and they informed me we would have to use a garage and walk over. They said the info was on their website. What website? We had a gorgeous room with no hot water. Lukewarm showers the first morning and nothing the next because it was cold. When I called they had turned it off to repair. They chose to repair it in the morning when everyone would be showering. The last little annoyance was the cable, which cut out and lost signal at least 4 times per show. The staff is great, but the management does not seem to be paying attention to the details.

Cons:Over charged for parking. One of our cars was charged for overnight and daily rate when it was there from 11pm to 4 pm. One of the great things about this hotel is the secure parking, but this policy is pricey.

Pros:Kwaz did a great job before we got there. Andrew did a great job checking us and checking us out. Housekeeping also did a good job keeping the room in order.
Cons:Toilet tank was wobbly so toilet seat would come crashing down unexpectedly.

Pros:We liked the view of the river and Riverwalk and being downtown. Riverwalk is great for running, walking, and people watching. Room rate was a good value.
Cons:Hotel is a little out of date and neets renovations. Next time will probably stay closer to convetion center and Amalie Arena.

Pros:Checking in was excellent. Jairo - at the front desk - did a superb job. Day manager on duty once really solved my problem in regards to charging my GPS - excellent customer service. Valet Parking people were superb in providing customer service - they really like what they are doing - no matter the time of the day.
Cons:Cleaning people forgot to refill restroom with toilet paper. One day beds were not made up, and forgot to refill in-room coffee maker with bags of coffee for next day.

Pros:The club level rooms with river view are gorgeous! Located in between two bridges that light up and right in the middle of River Walk, it is a great stay. The club lounge has breakfast in the morning (eggs, grits, bacon, sausage) and snacks throughout the day. Bottles of water and soda cans available too.
