Betsy's Hotel

Although Betsy's is a little distance from the center of the city, it makes up for this with its spectacular view of the city from above. The terrace is lovely, many of the rooms have balconies and city views too, and the breakfasts are excellent. The staff are helpful in booking drivers and guides.

Having breakfast or dinner on the terrace overlooking the whole of Tbilisi was a real treat. Very helpful staff. Great variety for breakfast catering for all tastes.

Lovely big suite with amazing views over Tbilisi. Great shower (much needed in the June heat). Possibly the best hotel breakfast I've ever had - a fine array of Georgian and Western options. Beer prices in the bar were on a par with everywhere else in Tbilisi. The small pool brought some welcome respite from the heat - I had it to myself in mid-afternoon as most of the other guests seemed to be there for business rather than leisure. The staff were very helpful - we especially liked the football & rugby fan who was sympathetic to the plight of Nottingham Forest FC. If we ever come back to Tbilisi - and I sincerely hope we do - we'll be sure to stay at Betsy's.

The walk up and down the hill! Actually we much preferred to be uphill away from the noise and traffic of Rustaveli. There's no big hotel sign so it can be difficult to find - look out for Prospero's Books, which is a franchise within the hotel. The gate to Betsy's is to the left (if you're looking downhill).
