Blood on the sheets
The area of Shinegawa is great, 5 minutes from a main train station where you can get anywhere in Japan. The room is just a bit bigger than the bed but full of amenities, i.e. Blow drier, plenty of shampoo, tv, etc. staff was polite and helpful as there was a drunk guy in the common area and the night manager came with me to buy snacks; he made me feel more comfortable as drunk guy was loud and wily. They refunded without issue and apologized.
There was literally dried blood on the sheets. Not a drop but a decent amount. No security guards. Loud in the hallways. The alarm in my room went off at 5 AM. Drunk, intrusive guy was able to act out without concerns of repercussions. I would only recommend for a business guy without much luggage as there is very little room. I DO NOT recommend for a female solo traveler. I have travelled a lot and am no shrinking violet and I moved to a different hotel the next day.
Located in Minato, this hotel is within 1 mi (2 km) of Tokyo Bay and Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum. Tokyo Tower and Mori Art Museum are also within 3 mi (5 km). Takanawadai Station is 8 minutes by foot and Tokyo Shinagawa Station is 6 minutes.
