Never got the car, after arriving nobody was in the office and after calling multiple times they didn’t have any reservation made to my name despite having the reservation and itinerary numbers. They shielded behind the excuse of making a deposit to reserve and I was never ask that until that moment, plus no cell service to call customer support to resolve the issue with KAYAK. Someone made a mistake along those lines and I never do it again.

They did not have my reservation and blamed Kayak. They tried to upsell me another car for $100 more and force me to pay insurance even though I have local insurance, international insurance, and insurance via my credit card.

When I arrived to Montevideo I called Thrifty in order ro pick us up at the airport. Thrifty represenative told me, that they do not have the car for us. He said, that I did not book with Thrifty directly and therefore my order is invalid and they do not have it in their system. I told them that I have received confirmation from Thrifty and that the problem is on theor end. After 30 min of intensive conversation the guy finaly admitted that they have some last other car, but more expensive. I decided to rent this car because I was under pressure.they provided Geely, originaly I booked Mercedes E. My experience with them is dissapointing.

They had no car left and I was charged car insurance from a separate company regardless on my visa! Was with my two daughters stuck at the airport waiting to get in contact with someone from thrifty and when we did we were told it was never confirmed! Be careful when ordering theses things online! Never again will I use Kayak!
