Overview

A visit to Washington, DC is inspiring for people the first time they arrive at America’s capital and it retains this sense of inspiration on subsequent visits. The city is a monument to American excellence, and when staying in such an auspicious place it is important to have the right accommodations. Being in the center of the city is critical, and that’s why the Westin Washington DC City Center is chosen by many tourists.

When describing the location as close to everything, it literally is. Located 5 blocks from the White House and the convention center, this hotel is all about being in the heart of DC. There’s much that guests can walk to as far as attractions, including the National Mall. Great eating is also a short stroll away as well.

As far as the hotel itself, to be located in such a desirable place means it must offer much to guests. With several different types of rooms all with views of the city, the accommodations live up to the expectations. There’s more though in the way of amenities. The Westin Washington DC City Center offers a fitness center, resources for business travelers, and a dedicated staff to help with wedding planning.

There are dining options available in the hotel as well. 1400 North and The Infamy Bar and Restaurant are great places for guests to unwind and enjoy a great meal. Reservations are required at Infamy, but not at 1400 North.

Book a great DC experience by being in the middle of the city at the Westin Washington DC City Center.

Pros (+) Location was excellent, atmosphere at the Westin is always wonderful
Cons (-) Staff was ok.. not very enthusiastic when checking in or overly friendly

Essad, Jul 2017
Pros (+) Excellent service for the most part. Loved the gym, great space for different types of workouts. Room was VERY well appointed. The rain shower head was great. It all had a very upscale swank look and feel to the place. Overall, I would definitely stay here again, the pros outweighed the cons.
Cons (-) Getting the car back into the valet every night took some time. Also, we had reserved a city view room. We ended up with a room facing to the interior of the hotel. We got there so late at night and had to just put the kids to bed, that it wasn't worth the hassle of packing up and moving to a new room. Would have been nice. But they gave me 2,000 SPG points for the mistake.

Pros (+) The location of this hotel was nice, but other than that, I was not impressed.
Cons (-) Walls are paper thin. Heard everything in the room next-door constantly. The amenities left a lot to be desired. Staff was slow to respond.

Pros (+) 1) clean bathroom 2) bath tub doesn't clog when you take a shower; commendable on this part. 3) bed was very comfortable.
Cons (-) 1) Accepts pets; this should be flagged prior to booking. There should be an option for customers to select non-pet room esp if one has allergies. 2) Business practice of asking for advance credit card signature. 3) WIFI and use of business center equipment are not standard amenities and customer pays i.e. cost of WIFI is based on GB of data.
