Rooms were very clean and modern. Staff were extremely courteous. Restaurant food was excellent. Great stay all the way around, I would stay there again without doubt.
* Room was a good size * Room included a kitchen area with full-size fridge and sink. The room was extremely cold, and when we turned the heat on, the vent blew colder air out. We called the front desk and were informed that they had "switched over" the system and that even though it was turned to heat it would only cool the room. We were told a space heater would be sent to the room, but one never arrived and then hours later we were told they were out of space heaters. If the heating and cooling system can be "switched over" then presumably it can be switched back, so my question for this hotel is if everyone was so cold that you ran out of heaters, why not switch the ability to heat rooms back on? Overall it was kind of bizarre and extremely inconvenient to have to wear coats indoors and put a damper on our otherwise-pleasant stay.
Great customer service, layout of rooms, cleanliness, quality of soap products, complimentary coffee in morning, great location, full-service restaurant Expensive valet parking.
The hot apple cider in the lobby. Great location. The room was filthy. It was NYE so we didn't make a big fuss about it but we were not happy right away. Random sprays of stuff on the walls, a nice little white stain on the bed skirt. The first thing we did was check for bed bugs and luckily there were none. We went out for a nice dinner and when we got back there were security guards in the lobby who stopped us and asked if we were guests but we just nodded and he let us right by. We spent the rest of the night listening to one of our neighbors break glass and toss furniture around- I get it it's NYE but we didn't think this hotel was that kind of place or we never would have paid this much to stay here. The only thing the front desk did was offer us comped breakfast and to have security "look around". The final blow came upon checkout when we found out the valet fee was $50! $50?! Why not offer to comp that instead of breakfast no way we were gonna eat something made in this filthy place.
There was more room than I expected or needed. The suite was well appointed and felt luxurious. The staff were very helpful and courteous. One bathroom counter was not very clean. The outdoor noises, which were present late into the night, were significant. I'd recommend better, quieter windows for such a nice hotel.
No maid service
It was a cute hotel in the center of the city. Very reasonable rates walk right behind for a great steak dinner. $5 Uber to any place in town. Valet service was a bit unnecessary.
Location is awesome. Pillows were hard (I am picky), plumbing fixtures were broken (reported, not fixed, reported again), coffee not replaced for next morning two times, TV's are not HD. On a positive note, we had an excellent steak in their restaurant and the service there was outstanding.
A satisfying choice-well appointed, good sized rooms. Comfy bed. Good location to Foggy Bottom and Georgetown
The room was tiny and a dump. It was dusty, I was sick all night. The hotel is in need of a major renovation.
Clean, rooms updated Rooms a bit on the small side
Location, staff were great At $200/night I could have had a true 4 star
The rooms were spacious with a small kitchenette!
The room was a decent size. I liked that it had a balcony. I liked that it had a bathtub and shower. I was allergic to something on the bed. I found that the bed was very uncomfortable. The room was very noisy so if you cann't sleep with noise, then skip this place. I was on the top floor and every horn blow and sirens are very loud and very often. Construction was also very noisy at 6AM. The circle has a lot within walking distance, but there wasn't a good selection of food places adjacent to the hotel. I think parking was absurd at $40 a night, especially when you give them your ticket and they forget to get your car....and when you finally get it back you have a nice dent on the door. It's like a hotel trying to be fancy but it's not fancy enough for the cost. I would say find something better.
Great rooms. Like that you put key in to control air conditioner so weren't wasting energy while not there. EXCELLENT bathroom. No free wifi in the rooms. Confusing information about how to get room service
Signed up for a 3 person hotel room - was changed an extra $20 for a double bed attached to a dolly so that we all had a place to sleep....I guess the room can fit three but not the beds...beware. The concierge asked "will all three of you be sleeping in the king size bed?" I said "No, of course not. I signed up for a 3 person room..." anyway lost $20....
Nice big room with kitchen (separate room no less) and small dressing room near bathroom. Comfy bed and couch. Nicest woman at checkin who was extremely helpful with maps, suggestions, answering questions. Great location close to Foggy Bottom metro station and While Foods and good restaurants and near to Georgetown We were excited they had free bikes which we signed up for but after going a mile or so we realized they were in bad shape and not really safe so we turned around and went back and went for a walk instead. The helmets weren't safe either.
At midnight before the morning I was flying to DC I received an odd (non-customer-facing) zendesk email informing me that River Inn had overbooked and would not honor my reservation. We called (800.468.3578) and were told that I would be re-booked at 1 of 2 nearby hotels—and I would be informed which by email before 5:30 AM. No email arrived. I called the number again at 8:30 AM (as I boarded the plane and after sitting on hold was eventually assigned to Washington Circle. Customer service was very helpful but looking back on it, the system wasn't able to make their own promised deadlines, causing unnecessary anxiety. When I arrived at the new hotel, there was more trouble: the room they had booked was only available for one night and then I would have to move so they downgraded me to a room so I could stay for the duration. Oy vey!
